So, I was thinking of getting a fringe next time I get a cut. It's not in style at all, but I think that would make it all the more edgy. It's definitely possible to pull off. Besides, it would be perfect for my head shape. I've got more oval than anything. Yeah, so, what do you all think?
They're called bangs in the us.:]

Anyways, i was wnting a fringe, but i dont want my hair cut like, shoulder length. i want it at least a little longer than shoulder length. Does a fringe look good with that length of hair? Any pics of a good hairstyle for that length, expecially fringe pics?

oh, one more thing, does anyone know of any websites with celebrity fringes on it? and which are your fav celebrity fringes?
PLEASE HELP ME! THANKS!

Hi,
Electrons with a speed of 2.3 x 10^6 m/s pass through a double-slit apparatus. Interference fringes are detected with a fringe spacing of 1.2 mm.
(a) What will the fringe spacing (in micrometers) be if the electrons are replaced by neutrons with the same speed?
(b) What speed must neutrons have to produce interference fringes with a fringe spacing of 1.2 mm?
What equations would I use to solve this question? The fringe spacing decreases a lot when you replace the electron with a neutron, right?
Thanks!

There is clear evidence of chromatic aberation in the form of the dreaded purple fringe. I have placed a red dot at each end of the fringe where it appears in this photo, which is identical to "Osprey in Tower," immediately adjacent to this shot my photostream.
The sun was somewhat low in the sky. You can tell the direction of the light by the highlights on the bird's chest and by seeing which sides of the tower steel are lit.
Fringe appears at high contrast interfaces, so I'd like to know why it is on the lit edge of the steel in some spots and on the shaded side in others, including along the Osprey's back.
Would a better lens have the same problem under similar conditions or would the fringe go away?
f/5.6 is the maximum aperture for this 70-300 VR lens at the shooting length of 300 mm.
Thanks for you help.
Gosh, I'm sorry!!! I forgot to include the link. Thanks, Ben.
D200:
I had thought it was the better lens (17-55) on the Nikon compared to the non-L glass on the Canon (17-85 EF-S - half the price) or maybe the sensor strategy, but now I realize that it may have been the time of day or the angle at which the photo was taken more than any other factors. (The light on the columns outside the window shows the difference in time.)
This requires more research and study on my part. If altering the angle of view relative to the light source will improve this, I'd certainly try to do it in the future.
I looked at 15-20 shots of that bird on the tower and I have a non-scientific observation. I say that, because I only looked at one set of images of one subject under nearly identical lighting conditions. I have observed that the fringing also occurs relative to the center of the frame and radial to it. The farther from the center you get, the worse it is. It is not on the lit side as opposed to the unlit side, either. It seems like it occurs at the edges that are "away from center." Maybe this makes sense, as a lense is spherical and the farther from the center you go, the greater the angle between the face of each piece of glass - usually. I'm sure that's part of the reason for using concave and convex glass for various elements within any given lens.

I have a big forehead with a skinny face. Its really annoying. I think i should get a fringe but am not to sure wether a full fringe or a side fringe would look best?
...
Are we having fun yet?
Thanks so much for your explanations about the dreaded purple fringe. Some of that I knew and much of it I did not.
My original question asked whether fringe came from the sensor, the lens, or both. I do believe that it comes from both, but I now believe that the lens is the more significant contributor. Once you see my sample, you will understand why I say this. If fringe was merely caused by the sensor, you would not see the pattern that I observed. Whether a "good" lens will give less fringe or not remains to be investigated.
See and read the commentary and come back and answer the question, "What do you think?"
Interestingly, I was not expecting to ever use this image for anything but a geometric study. I used to weld and do some minor steel construction and I really appreciate the precision of this structure. You have to realize that you are looking at something about 30 feet wide.
After looking at a few more examples - including my own - I realize that the pattern I have observed is probably peculiar to the nature of this shot. It is comprised of all straight edges with stark contrast between two practically monochrome fields and that may be a special situation. The examples still show that the "cheap" lenses are worse than the "good" lenses, though.
Saying a lens that is wonderful except for severe chromatic aberations is like saying your ... I can't even think of an example I can put here! You love your car, except that the wheels are square?
I have just read a piece that says (repeatedly) that lenses are worse for CA when used wide open or near wide open. I suppose that's something that I can test myself. I may even have test shots available already, as I have some some series (like that crystal vase) using many different apertures.

i have a fringe at the moment but its so gross because i straighten my everyday its burnt and its so stringy and its really hard to style.
i was thinking of getting a straight fringe that goes right across my forehead but i'm not sure..i dont think it would suit me and i dont want to look like a 'little' girl.
i want to get some pictures of different types of fringes..any website you know of where i can get pictures like that?
...
i am thinking about getting a straight fringe..one that goes straight across my forehead. i have one at the moment, its a side fringe. i have seen so many people with those kind of fringes and i know of some people that have gotten them.
i have an oval face and i dont know if it will suit me like make some of my features TO prominent and full. i asked my mum about it and she said that it could add more fullness to my face because my face is so thin.
what do you think? would it be to hard to style?
...
I have a stupid fringe. After I shower I usually divide my front hair into 2:3 and leave my fringe sweep. But the annoying thing is, the pointy end of my fringe always ends up facing the opposite direction and pokes my eyes. I always have to straighten the god damn thing.

Im really bored of my hair, so i booked a appointment for a haircut at my usualy salon for tomorrow afternoon.
but im not sure whether i should get a fringe/bangs?
I have like a oval/round face shape and according tomy friends it would suit me. but i dont want a full fringe, just side fringe. something like actress selena gomez.
And layers, but if i get layers, does it affect the length of my hair? help. Because my hair has only just grown, and i prefer long medium ish hair. Im not sure whether i should get bangs/fringe? But id really love a change, i just dont want it to go wrong.
Do you think it would suit my face shape? And should i go for it? do you like selena gomez's hair? and does layers affect hair length overall? :)
