 if a light flashes at night at an intersection with known red light cameras, does that mean a picture has been taken? a flashing occurred once as i was crossing one intersection. and then again as i was crossing a subsequent intersection. im trying to figure out if it was light from the harbor or light from the red light camera. i hope not, because i swear i did not cross on a red light. the first light i crossed on a yellow. i was following the procession of cars. but it was never red. im so confused. i am a very careful driver. the fact that two pictures were taken worries me. who in their right mind would ever cross two crossways 10 feet of each other on a red light? i think its pretty clear i didnt do that. who would do that? im really worried and irritated. anyway, if anyone could tell me if these cameras have flashes id appreciate it. because if not it must have been the harbor. i have no idea and would like to figure out. thank you for you help i wanted to add, i only started crossing at yellow because cars beep at me when i dont. if i stop at a yellow some cars even intimidate my car. im so annoyed. i hate arguing things like this. plus they will never believe me. im screwed. thank you for the info. the light was flashing so much. it seemed like 5 or 6 times. i was very confused and thought it might be a boat from the harbor or a migraine. i guess ill wait to see this lovely picture in the mail. what can i do? no one will ever believe the light was yellow. the light was definitely green the second light. im just not sure what the heck happened. well, anyway thanks again. ...

 Does anyone realize how dangerous Red Light Cameras really are? Those things are so incerdibally dangerous for motorcycle riders. It is litterally a life or death decision to risk getting a ticket or risk having the driver behind me turn me into a hood ornament. Yeah, so it is their fault if they run into the back of me but that is not going to help me very much if I am dead. Then to make things worse the local govenments tamper with the duration of the yellow light and make it shorter in an effort to catch as many drivers as possible! I actually used to think that red light cameras were a good idea but after almost being rear ended three times now and having to slide to a stop more than once because the guy in front of me locked down his breaks on a light that went from green immediately to red with only a flash of a yellow light I have completely changed my mind. Just do a yahoo search for "red light cameras rear end accidents" and see what you get. What can be done? ...

 This is in regaurds to the State of California and these red light cameras. I know that running a red light is illegal. So is being stoped in an intersection when the light turns red since it's impeding traffic. I know that these cameras can ticket for running the red light and in some instances for speeding. But can these cameras ticket someone for being stopped in the middle of the intersection due to heavy traffic? In other words can they ticket for impeding the flow of traffic? Or are none of them set up for that sort of thing? For a traffic violation like that how much would it cost in Culver City? How much would it cost in Van Nuys? Thanks for your assistance. ...

 I don't think the red light is supposed to stay on like that... Before I only had the green light on and if something was processing, the red light would flicker. I think my cousin was fixing something inside and might have accidentally did something to it. And now the red light just stays on... Help, anyone? And seriously, be nice about this!  Usually when you lift up an optical mouse, the red light under it would dim out after couple seconds, to save the energy, right? I got this optical mouse from Logitech. I think it was the cheapest of its kind (10 dollars). But then even if I lift it up high from the desk, the red light won't dim. Even when I turn the computer off, the light is on and the brightness won't change at all. This BRIGHT red light is always on. I know other mice are not like this.  On my original Xbox I have a green light while it's booting up, after it loads UnleashX (the mod) it turns red (it doesn't blink) and the Xbox gets louder.  i was driving on the busiest street downtown where there are a million lights that are like 50 ft from each other. i have taken the same way for 3 years and there is no way to get around stopping at pretty much every red light. i had a problem with my registration (the dealership never entered that when i bought my new car, i kept the plates) so i had been getting pulled over a few times because it showed that my plates did not exist. when i stopped at the redlight on 7th, i saw the officer get behind me. he then followed me from 7th to 5th and pulled into the turning lane behind me. we waited a minute or 2 until the arrow came, then he flashed his lights for me to stop. i figured it was registration (i have out of state plates so i couldn't just drive down the road and get it taken care of). he told me that we were going to sit there until i showed him the right registration. after sitting for 45 min, he came back and told me i ran the red light back on 7th. how do i fight this? ...

 Red Light Camera Ticket? A few weeks ago I travelled to Hamilton,Ontario to visit a GF.I've never ever,I mean never have went through a red light wllingly unless I am skidding across in the snow.Anywho,it happened to be raining pretty heavy in Hamilton,cars were fishtailing,and my SUV was spinning when getting off at an intersection once the light hits green.I was driving down East Main Street and Sanford Avenue South intersection.As I was approaching the Greenlight I entered the intersection,it quickly turned Amber,I tried to break,but semi skidded,so I figuared from my past experiances,if its yelow,and I am skididng,I will skid through no matter what,so I proceeded with caution since that is what amber technically means unless ur able to stop,and I swear not even a blink of an eye it turned RED!I saw flashes beyond flashes.I was the 4th lane to the left,and couldnt see a camera warning sign at all.fine says red was on 0.6 seconds before i crossed over!Took 1.3 seconds to drivethrough ...

 Hi, i was shock when i got pulled over by a police man at the LAX,he gave me a red light ticket stating i'm 1 second late.I don't think i ran a red light and I have good driving history, never had ticket or accident for the past 13 years. what should i do? will it increase my insurance premium? should i go to court to dispute or just take it and go to traffic school. I'm assuming by going to traffic school can avoid the point and premium increase right??? it was green and i was moving along witht he traffic flow.  I received a red light violation citation in San Francisco, CA detected by a photo camera, although I honestly do not recall running any red lights. In fact, I've been driving in San Francisco for 10 years and never received a ticket before. The ticket says the yellow was on for 3.1 sec prior to red, and red was on for 0.3 sec when I entered the intersection. Can I dispute such sitation? ...

 I was wondering the strategy behind red light cameras. It seems people run red lights at any intersection. Are they set up in higher crime areas so officers don't have get out of their cars to issue tickets in a place where their life might be at risk? ...

 If you got pulled over in the future, why would the police take you to jail if you had an unpaid Red Light Camera Ticket on your record? The red light ticket is the only traffic violation that is civil instead of criminal, doesn't even count as points on a DMV record. They can't even be sure you got it in the mail since no steps are taken to have it signed for (which you would have to do to serve a lawsuit, you can't mail it). Are they seriously going to take a person to jail if they happened to get pulled over for something else? I highly doubt it. Has this happened to anyone? For all of you about to scold and harrass me, i was in the intersection for 0.5 seconds - read for yourself the reports about how they shorten yellows, which increases ticketing from 20/month per intersection to over 200.
