I think the Yankees keep Joe Torre because of Derick Jeter. Jeter stated in one of the interviews on FSN when the intevewier asked what happened if Joe Torre get fired from the yankees. Jeter said "I dont know if I can play for anybody else but him" I think "The Boss" watched that interview and afraid to upset Jeter since Derick Jeter is like "God" for the Yankees and the Yankees fans. Derick Colman was selected number 1, 2 or 3 in the NBA draft. He was the most talented player in the draft. He relied on his genetics to play in the NBA and was usually overweight. He never practiced and most NBA players can only dream of having his talent.He was a nomadic NBA player for his whole career because he never came close to his potential. I never followed the Yankees mainly because I live in the west coast so i dont care about them. But I start watching the Yankees for the last 3 years and all this hype about Derick Jeter I dont get. He is a good fielder no doubt but I know a lot of short stop that is just like him in terms of fielding. His hitting is not eye poping or anything. He is not a home run guy that people should even know about. And he's not clutch like what people said he is. So why is he getting paid so much? Is it cus he's a good looking player just like A rod? I'll bet you that if he is not playing for the Yankees but for the Pirates, he would not get any attention at all. He is a good player but not a God like most people put him out to be, but i do want to know what Im missing. ...
