I have several questions. First of all, I have really, really bad sinus'; everyone in my family does. So, lately ( the past week or so ), I have been getting really bad sinus headaches. I have recently had some dental work done ( 2 root canals and a temporary filling ) and I have noticed that whenever I get those really bad sinus headaches, it makes the whole left side ( the same side that I recently had a root canal and a temporary filling done ) of my face and jaw hurt; it doesn't necessarily make the tooth that had the root canal hurt or the tooth that was filled. But definitely my face and jaw so it sometimes feels as if those two teeth are hurting...does that make sense? Secondly, at my last dentist visit ( about a month and a half ago ), I had a root canal done and on another tooth, I had a cavity; not a deep cavity but a cavity. So, after my dentist did the root canal, he put some medicine in the other tooth and sealed it up. He said he wanted to watch that tooth to see if that one would have to have a root canal also. My question is...how can you tell if it needs to have a root canal or not? It doesn't seem swollen or sensitive or anything like that...like I have been brushing it for awhile now and it doesn't hurt or anything like that. How long after he put the medicine in can you tell if it should have a root canal or not? What are the symptoms? Lastly and this is kind of embarrassing but...ever since I have begun dental work ( after 10 years or so of not going to the dentist ), I have noticed that I have begun to drool more than usual. Now, I used to drool...does that have anything to do with it? Does the recent dental work have anything to do with it? Thanks in advance!! Oh, also, I have been kind of weary to eat on the left side of my face because of the root canal and temporary filling that I recently had done ( the work was done on two of my bottom molars ). So, I have mainly been eating on the right side of my face which I have also been sort of reluctant to eat on because I have another tooth ( uppper molar ) that I had a root canal on and now have a temporary post in. So, basically, I have just been eating using my two front teeth and using part of my right side of my mouth...could this be why the left side of my face has been sort of achy? Thanks!! ...

ok so recently (6 days back) i fainted and fell on my mouth..when i checked my right front tooth in went in (like 1 mm maybe?)and its color was different was different from the rest of my teeth...when i went to the dentist he told me that i'd have to wait and see if the color continues to change & if it does i would have to get a root canal treatment done..i've heard a root canal treatment is painful, and is there any chances of that tooth going back to its original color?will the root canal treatment bring my tooth back to its original position?can anyone get to know that i got a root canal done on that tooth when i talk or smile?please tell me everything.. btw im only 16 yrs old^ ...

I had a root canal in 1998. Retreatment one month ago The infection was prfound. I thought I would feel better after the root canl. Ringing in my ears for over six months and thought that the root canal would help alleviate the problem. I also have had muscular pain in right arm (which is the side of the molar in question. The MD prior to the root canal thought I had fibromyalgia. When the infection was released I immediately felt better. However, I did get worse healthwise since the infection was outside the tooth.. I have had dizzy spells and some cognitive problems. There is so much on the internet regarding controversies in root canals and its impact on your overall health. I do not know whether to finish the root canal procedure or have my tooth pulled. The endodontist indicated that a resdiual infection can take as long as two years to rid itself from the body. I have read about the mercury problem in root canals. Are their any professionals who can offer opinions? I have gone to physicians and they ran numerous tests and blood cultures and they came up negative. I have asked for an MRI. The physician indicated that a tagged WBC would be more beneficial. However, he doesn't think that there is an infection. I have pushed for some moree conlcusive testing. I did difinitely have a root canal with a post. It seems as though the phsycians see things only within their specialty. I have had to bring together different specialties of information and press for more testing. Endo says she onlydoes root canal. Internist runs blood and says no infection for three years. However, Endo found puss within RC. I asked MD if puss - infection. Maybe Osteomyelitis. I am tired of the numerous doctors I have been to trying to make sense out of something that is causing me pain and dizziness. I do not know wht to do anymore. I have been to doctors and it doesn't seem as though they see the link between root canal and infection/medical condition. Help. ...
