 It's been a while since I've taken a French class (although my highschool teacher was never really into teaching french, he like politics better). However, I do remember one phrase "Tu a un popotan minion." But, since then, I've head it said in many other ways: " Tu a un popo tres minion," "Tu a un petit bout minion," etc. So, I was wondering, for those who are really good at French (and actually know some of the more familiar/slang terms), how would you say, "You have a cute little butt?"  to call his teacher by the "tu" form versus the "usted" form? Some of the children in my classroom address me as "tu". When I try to correct them, they stop for awhile, but then go back to using "tu". Are they being influenced by American English or has Spanish become more informal? When I was learning Spanish, I was taught that teachers are respected and should be addressed by the more formal "usted". Is this no longer the case? Am I being too stringent? Please help; serious answers would be greatly appreciated. Euarodi, I am 32 years old and I am a bilingual kindergarten teacher; my students and I are definitely not from the same generation! :o) I don't know if that informmation puts a new spin on this situation or not. ...

 Okay, I'm embarrased to say I've studied Spanish for years and still don't get the tu command form/ Uds. command form and when to just use Uds. regular? Can someone please help with etiquette rules and endings for present tense regular verbs? Just a few hints from someone who knows what they are talking about would really help. For instance - what do I use to tell a child to read the book. Or a group of children to walk to the door? LOL.. Is it a "command" or just "Ustedes andan a la puerta?" ...
