 What would cause my battery to spark when I connect my cables back to the battery. I know that they are supposed to be disconnected with the negative first and then connected back with the negative side last. I follow this routine everytime I take my battery posts on and off. There is always a spark though when I reconnect my cables. My car is a 1969 Chevy Impala with a Rep Top Optima Battery. Any help would be appreciated as I'm not sure if these sparks that happen when I connect my battery cables back up indicate an electrical short somewhere in my wiring system. BTW, I am not hooking up my cables wrong or backwards either! So I went to the nurse's office and she had peroxide or alcohol or something like that to put on my scrape.  I am disgusted by the criticism aimed at Jordin Sparks! She is a wonderful singer, and very beautiful! But i go on the internet and see people calling her obese, sasquatch, a hog, and too fat to be american idol. Meme Roth cannot label Jordin as unhealthy just by looking at her! She is far from obese, she may be a little overweight but who CARES?? i thought it was a singing competition!  Last night I wore a sweater to sleep and decided to take it off in the dark. While I was taking it off, my hair rubbed on the sweater's inside naturall, then light sparks came out of it while my head is still inside of the sweater. I was like wtf, I repeated several time and everytime it fricking lit up when I tried to take my sweater off. I'm not talking like one small little spark either, it was a bunch of them, like it was lightning shining through a window. The thing is that I get static shocks a lot and really really bad too. Whats wierd is that I live in houston in the summer and it gets really humid and thats when it gets really bad. Everytime that I get shock, you can actually hear a crack as if you touch an open electric wire. Its so bad that everytime I touch a door handle, I just hit my hand to the handle so that the pain from hitting my hand can distract the shock from the door handle or my car. Anybody know why I experience this unsually high static shocks? ...
