I know mostly about the Army and nothing about the Navy except for the fact that they travel a lot. Which would be the better branch to join when it comes to deploytation rates, living quarters, etc.? Thanx for all the advice for a girl but it isn't for me, it's for my fiance. So he can deal w/sh*tty condtions. I was just concerned about him being away from home. ...

I recently was honorably discharged from the United States Navy and I have several uniforms that are in very good condition. I was wondering about Army-Navy surplus stores. Can I just take my uniforms to the store and will they buy them from me? I live near Seattle, WA. If anyone has experience with selling to an Army-Navy surplus store, I'd greatly appreciate it! I am mostly wanting to sell service uniforms (not BDU's), like my extra sets of summer whites, working blues, etc. I am keeping the required amount in case I do get reactivated. ...

What do you think of this analogy? A friend of mine used this when I asked what his interpretation was of the function of each branch. It was a general analogy - not applicable to any specific nation or to any specific reasoning behind using military force, but to the function of a given branch of service so to speak. Anyway, what's your opinion? Marines (as in invasion forces) - BANG! This is now ours. Army (occupation forces) - Yep, still ours - BANG! Navy (support forces) - BANG! Where do you think you are going exactly? BANG! Air Force (suppression/initial attack) - BANG! Yes, we're coming. What was it exactly you planned on doing? BANG! National Guard/Reserve - Who the hell do you think you are? BANG! Total - DON'T MESS! This is put in terms of how the US military is organized, but I don't mean to imply that at all - merely to ask opinions regarding FUNCTION. Regardless of nation. Is this a fair view of military purpose internationally? If not, how do nations differ? I asked for opinions on my friend's analogy. Do I have to point out that I haven't stated my own opinion because I'm trying to consider what HE said? ...

People even e mailed me about her moronic comment. I am never insulted by people I don't know or care to know. Anyway, the Army-Navy Game is a tradition that has been going on for over 100 years. If you have NOT heard of it ( ! ) please also list your age. Thank you. OOPS!!! I did not mean to click on the star.It is 4am and I can't sleep....and apparently can't read very well, either!!! ...

Im trying to get down to 200lbs to possibly kepy my options open for joining the military. Is that a good weight for a guy my size to be. Been running alot and working out, use to play football, baseball in highschool, but got lazy when the seasons ended and got out of shape.
