I have an old compaq presario v2000, it stopped working a while ago just wouldnt turn on for more than a second. No idea why, tried turning it on 2night and it says "Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) copyright (c) 1997-200 Intel corporation, For Realtek RTL8139(x)/8130/810x PCI Fast ethernet controller v2.13 (020326), PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable, PXE - M0F: Exiting PXE ROM" it just flashes all that and goes blank then flashes it again and again. I have looked on google and apparently its something to do with the boot order, cant test that theory though as the DVD drive stopped working just before the laptop died Anybody please explain to me what all this means and how i can fix the problem? thanks in advance I just tried changing the boot order by pressing esc and then choosing the hard drive it turned off and now wont turn back on :( going to try another hdd if possible I have a new compaq presario v6000 is brilliant, would just be nice to have 2 laptops :D i got it working! took the cd drive out and it started up fine, when it got to xp login screen i typed the wrong password and it crashed, restarted wouldnt work, tried again went back to original PXE error, restarted went in to bios settings tried to run a harddrive test says no IDE device connected? which is strange considering it just booted off the hdd few minutes ago anyway after a few minutes it crashed while in the bios settings so i think its time to give up, i have either a dud DVD rom drive or harddrive and to top it off the cooling fan dont seem to spin anymore and the little battery that keeps the bios data, its thing it sits in is loose, anyone want a compaq presario 1.6 512ram 60gig harddrive for spares :P ...

OK this is the deal. I opened my laptop up to solder the power jack that came loose. Which is still not fix because it came loose again. But this is not the problem. The problem occur after I put the laptop back together, and turned it on. When I turned it on a black screen comes up saying: No Bootable CD In ATAPI CD-ROM Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810x PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326) PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM. Press any key when ready.... Even after I press any key the same thing comes up. Can anybody tell me how I can fix this? Thank you! ...

Its an E-machines desktop computer model T3306. it is about a year old, when we turn the computer on, it tries to load and gives this message : intel undi, pxe- 2.1 (build 082) copyright (c) 1997- 2000 intel corporation for realtek rtl8139(x)/8130/810x PCI fast ethernet controller v2.16 (041224) client mac addr: 00 40 CA A9 82 68 GUID : FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF PXE-E53: no boot filename received PXE-MOF : EXISTING PXE ROM. DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER This is right after it says verify bmi pool data i beleive. and it gets through that step and that is the next step it takes. When it did this before, I went and pressed F8 and started from the last known good configuration and it loaded. now when i try to get back there, when i press F8, it doesnt even acknowledge that i pressed it. it will work for F2 and F10, but when i press F8 it continues on its regular path as if ive pressed nothing. can anyone help me? BTW~ This is my moms computer, she has no idea where the restore disk is, i was going to just reinstall windows, but she can not find that disk. any options? when i went into the bios settings before, it said the first place it was booting from was cd rom, and that didnt make sense so i changed it to harddrive, and then it was fine for about 2 weeks, now its back to how it was but its still set to hard drive ...

Okay when i boot on one of my PC's, i get black screen, then i get this Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082) Copyright (c) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Realteck RTL811B/8168B Gigabit Ethernet Controller v2.04 (060821) CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 19 DB 79 FB GUID: FFFFFFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF PXE-MOF: Existing PXE ROM. Reboot and select proper Boot device or insert Boot Media in selcted Boot device and press a key ------------------- yeah... so i dont get this every time. My PC will work fine, its as soon as i turn off the power supply (sometimes no even that, but mostly when i turn it off) and restart it, i get this pop-up. If i mash a bunch of the f# keys during its black start up, i sometimes get a boot option where it says select boot device. The options are floppy, cd, or the ethernet controller. Why is it doing this? It did the same thing with the other mobo and powersupply. Thanks for the help, all of you, i always seem to get good answers here:) Oh well heres the kicker, I cant get into bios!!!!!!ive tried alllll the F keys at boot up and i cant get into bios. The only one the works is f12 which gets me to select which of the 3 i want to boot from. Once again... I turn on PC... Monitor turns on, all black for 4 seconds, i get text field for 1, then this error shows up... ...

I was watching a movie on my laptop a few days ago and it started to skip. I tried to close it and my computer froze up. I restarted it thinking it was no big deal. Now my computer wont start up. When I turn it on it displays "Toshiba" in red like always and then goes to the black screen where it usually flashes some white letters (kinda like dos) but it never passes that screen and on into windows. Instead it says: Intel UNDI, PXE-2.0 (build 082) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation Then this comes up under it: For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326) Then this comes up: PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, check cable PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM. And then a second later this comes up right under all this: Operating System not found What is going on? It cant find windows? I dont know what happened. Can anyone offer some advice on what to do? Also, I tried putting in that reformat CD that the comp comes with and it just errors out. I really dont want to completely reformat my computer back to the way it was when I bought it. I have some stuff on there that isnt backed up yet... It wont start in safe mode. It does beep when I press f8. ...
