I have Borderline Personality Disorder and when I feel really sad I just cuddle (not a lesbian) up to one of my friends and hold on tightly, before I self harm or something, and it goes away, like it fades. Why?
Only mature answers please...

the mother dropped a baby possum when he was on her back, and we found it sitting alone on our fence. we put it in a cage and gave it a chopped banana with milk in a baby;s bottle. he wont eat, and we dont know if we should put the possum back and if the mother will accept him back after human touch.

I was told that the only way a bird and squirrels can walk on power lines is because they are only on one. I was told you have to touch two lines to be zapped.

Let's say you run your fingers across a smooth surface and you encounter a bump or other imperfection. What is the minimum size of the bump that we could actually feel? How small of an object can our fingers detect?

I need to know if those thin, membrane switches used for keyboards will respond to a funger's touch. I also need to know if i can DIY my own thin wires, again like on keyboards' membrane panels. I need a minimally evasive touch solution, and I think that using the same tech from the keyboard panels would be both minimally evasive, and give a bit of flair to my display. Also, if the switches do respond to fingers, can I buy them at relatively low cost.

My 7 month old Congo, starts squirming away whenever I try to pet her. She also starts screaming whenever one my guests tries to pet her. She is not a biter, but I really would like her to enjoy me and new people petting her. Does anyone have any tips?

I just wanted to put this out there, hopefully to get some more varied opinions on the subject. I noticed the other day that, with the exception of the occasional brush-past/up in the subway, I haven't been touched by another human being in almost a year. For the most part I've forgotten what it feels like, and I'm wondering if that's a bad thing. I'm curious to see how many people think physical interaction is actually a necessity of life (no I don't mean just sex, for purposes of procreation to continue the species or recreation) I'm wondering if it's vital to living or not; maybe it's just something we tell ourselves we need.

I heard that human touch is very important for us and in fact is almost necessary. Why is that?
