 It has a Trojan Virus, so I can not get it to run long enough to do scans. I don't care if I lose all info, if I can just erase the hard drive, I want to put Windows 98 on it. Since the recovery is built in to this "garbage can", I have no way to reformat, until I can erase the drive. Any one know a trick to do this? This particular system was purchased as a complete 'set', monitor, hp pavilion, keyboard, from a WalMart by my daughter, and it did not include ANY recovery software. It came with a notice, in the box, that the recovery 'software' is on the hard drive, which has proved to be a pain. I want to install win 98 because I have had it for 8 years and have never had a problem I couldn't take care of here at home. It is extremely user friendly, and a friend of mine has win xp also, and it has done nothing but cause problems for her. I think the only thing I will be able to do, is buy another hard drive, and just replace It. I appreciate all the answers.(I have already tried the F10 and F12 key, no help, but thanks.) ...
