I am a middle aged man and want to buy a motorcycle for city use. single riding only. occasionally pillion rider also.
which has least maintenance - 100 CC or 125 CC.good pick up not required.
Preferences - least maintenance and then consistent optimum mileage for many years.
is 100 cc advisable for pillion riding ? what is the maximum weight a 100 CC bike can bear without adversly affecting engine ?
what is the general difference between a standard and a delux model of any brand? only in accessories or slightly even in engine ?
if possible suggest between Gladiator, Zeus, Shine, CD Dawn/Delux, Discover.
Please oblige.

First and foremost, I WILL be taking an MSF course and WILL be buying gear before I do any riding. To start, I've been looking at motorcycles for the past few months now and I am now certain that I will be getting one within the year. I'm not sure though on what is best to get for my first bike. I have been doing some looking around and seen that many riders recomend 250's as 1st bikes. I'm 225 lb. and 6 ft, so is a 250 too small? I have also heard that 600cc bikes can make good starters as long as the rider is mature enough and understands that the right-hand turns ONLY with the increase of skill. Holding back on the throttle isn't what I'm worried about! Is a 600cc bike (CBR 600RR, GSX-R 600, or R6) too big or have to much power? Most of my riding will be during my everyday commute to school and work. Both are only cross town so they aren't far, but I would like something I can take on trips (say Ohio to Fl.). I'm loolking for something dependable and preferably newer (02/01 on).

I learned to drive a motorcycle when I visited India (youtube: India driving) where the bikes typically ranged from 100cc-450cc. My first motorcycle there was a 150cc, but I rented and drove motorcycles up to 350cc. While i was there i faced almost every traffic, weather and road condition you can imagine. Now that i am back in the US and have moved to California, I am very very excited to get a Motorcycle! I've signed up for the safety course to help w/ insurance costs, and so that I can get liscenced and test drive bikes when i start shopping for one.
I am interested in buying a used motorcycle that will have longevity as well as resale value. I am 6', 175lbs and 22 years old. I live in the San Jose and want a motorcycle that accomodates everyday riding as well as road-trips. I want to be able to ride my motorcycle to work, to the gym, to San Francisco, to LA, etc. etc. Needless to say, riding comfort is important. What should i get?

I have used automotive oil in previous motorcycles, dirt bikes and ATV's. I understand how and what oil does in an internal combustion engine. Do motorcycles really need "motorcycle oil" that is almost 300% the price of qutomotive oil. I "buy into" the hype about cycle oils being better for friction since I have researched this issue to a certain extent.
I guess my question would have to be narrowed down to this:
Does motorcycle oil really attribute to better operation and wear charactoristics of the "wet clutch" that motorcycles of today use?
Automotive engines do use smooth bearings

Does anyone know of a full-time certified motorcycle safety school in Oklahoma? I have checked into motorcycle safety courses around town (only TCC at the BA offers them). All of the motorcycle classes in Tulsa are booked up through summer with a waiting list. I'm a first time rider and would like to get the experience (along with a discount on my insurance) before riding on the street.
I know everyone is getting into motorcycles ever since "American Chopper" and "Monster Garage" started airing on Discovery Channel a couple years ago, but it's pretty ridiculous, considering it's a SAFETY course. If I can't find anything I'll just have to learn on my own by riding in the neighborhood until I feel comfortable enough to get out into traffic.

Chances are if your already a Motorcycle rider with years of experience, I want to know if YOU would still ride even if you KNEW that you were going to end up dieing on a motorcycle.
None of us want to die on a motorcycle, but I want to know if the benefits of being a rider would make it worth it to you anyways.

ok so I am thinking of going to mmi. the phoenix campus. If I do go I want to take their hontech program. Which once I am done I will be a entry level certified american honda technician. What kind of salary can I expect to make once I graduate from mmi working for american honda as a motorcycle technician?
I have tried looking online but there is nothing really specific I also browsed the questions and answers from other people. From what I have been able to find online motorcycle mechanics make about 30-40k a year. Well I love motorcycles and it would be great to do that for a living. But right now I have a very cushy job. I work 5 days a week. 6 hours a day. and I make 30k a year already. so I am wondering if I should give this job up to pursue a motorcycle career. Of course if I ask mmi or the reading I found on the page try to dazzle it up but they dont say anything about salaries. heres a link to the website and programs available:

Hey, I'm 19 and considering getting a motorcycle for 4 reasons:
1) Cheaper than a car!
2) Excellent MPG!
3) Cheap insurance!!!
4) Fun!
Here are my questions:
1) I've seen videos where the motorcycle loses control and starts to wobble very quickly, then the rider crashes. Is it because they're doing tricks or is there something they're doing wrong (minus a poorly executed trick)?
2) When parking, do you actually park in a parking space? Or can you just park on the sidewalk (of, for example, Wal-Mart)?
3) Are the majority of motorcycle accidents due to dangerous driving (such as exceeding speed limits, weaving between lanes, etc)?
4) Is it better to buy a new motorcycle (I am considering a Buell Blast) because you never know how well a person takes care of their bike?
5) Does anyone know any good places to get a good, used, motorcycle in Georgia? :)
6) Are there any tips that any veteran drivers have for me?
Thanks for you time!
