 I launched a pdf file from the internet and when my adobe reader started it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to adobe 8. I upgraded however It became unresponsive and wouldn't open. So I went to add and remove programs and went to uninstall the program and I saw I have to versions of it. I then went on to uninstall both adobe 7.08 and adobe 8. After I restarted my computer I tried to reinstall adobe 8 and a message error telling me I have adobe 7 installed and it wont let me reinstall.I have looked in the registry for files and have deleted them all. When I went to reinstall again It tells me to put in my adobe reader 7 cd. I don't have one because I downloaded it free on the internet. How do I clean my computer to get rid of this problem so that I can view a pdf file. Is there a patch that I can download to fix this. I also have tried to located adobe reader 7 so that i could reinstall that edition and I keep getting adobe 8 . Please help! I have uninstalled adobe reader and removed it from the registry.  Well, I have a stuffed up plug-in. And someone told me to download Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave Player on adobe.com. And that was a success. But she also told me to download Macromedia Flash Player 7 and Macromedia Shockwave Player on macromedia.com. And when I go to macromedia.com it goes to adobe.com. And even when I search it up it goes to Adobe. And If I can't download I can't play shockwave games. Is Adobe and Macromedia the same? Or are they two different things. Because they both go to the same website with the same download when I search for it. And for Adobe I already downloaded that and when I search for the download on Macromedia. It goes to the download on Adobe which I already downloaded. So I really need help. And normally when I try to play shockwave games an error comes up. Saying that there is a missing-plugin. And I had a choice of installing it. But when I install it, It doesn't work as usual. I really need help. My shockwave stuffed up on Saturday. Help! ...

 I had installed Adobe 7 & Adobe 5. Now, I only use Adobe photoshop 7 & want to uninstall Adobe 5, but I'm unable to figure it out in "add remove programs". Although I can see Adobe 5 application in the start up menu. Why this program installation is not showing in "add/remove program" ? (Btw: I can see installation of Adobe 7 in "add remove programs") Further, Incase I get the answer how to un-install, will adobe 7 application run fine, even after removing Adobe 5 ? ...

 My computer runs on Windows XP Home Edition has Adobe Reader 7.0.8. When I click on a link that supports Adobe Reader in Internet Explorer, a new window pops up and displays the content (i.e. rebate form, etc.). I have no problem using the computer. But a few seconds before the compuer shuts down, a warning window pops up and says something like "... failed to initialize..." This happens almost all the time after I open an Adobe Reader link in IE and then shut down the computer. It's diffidcult to see what the warning actually says because the computer then shuts down right after the warning pops up. But I think there is something wrong with opening the Adobe Reader file on internet. The problem only happens when opening an Adobe Reader file on internet, not when the file is saved in my computer. Could someone please explain how to fix this problem? ...

 When I downloaded an Adobe product, I accidently did not unclick the Adobe + Yahoo toolbar and am now stuck with an Adobe products key at the beginning far left on my Yahoo toolbar that I am not given options to remove or hide. I have tryed removing and uninstalling all products related to both, rebooting and then carefully downloading fresh. As of now, Yahoo toolbar keeps installing itself with the Adobe key. This is annoying, I'll go to the Adobe website on my own terms, when I need something. ...

 Got a message on myspace this past weekend to upgrade to adobe's flashplayer version 9. followed the directions and it did not work. went to adobes website and tried to download directly from there. still nothing. when i look at my add/remove programs, the adobe program is listed but shows no file size and it will not allow me to remove it from my list of programs. tried a system restore to a previous time, which removed the program but then i again tried to load the player from adobe with no success. any tips from anyone on this? anyone else have any problems with this download?  I am trying to install adobe reader 7. It wont install and it keeps telling me to insert my disk. I don't have one because I use the free one from the adobe website.  When i go to websites like myspace i get a bar at the top that says "this website wants to install the following add-on: 'Adobe Flash Player' from 'Adobe Systems Inc.'  I don't know what happened. When I tried to upgrade to Adobe 8, the install couldn't finish b/c of some remnants of the Adobe 7 were interfering somehow (installation package could not be opened...verify that it exists). It wouldn't let me uninstall Adobe 7, so I deleted all adobe files I could find. I removed all remnants of adobe from the registry. I ran the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Any ideas? ...

 Being that I am job hunting, a lot of on-line applications are in PDF, I am instructed to print the application and fill it out by hand. Is there a way to enter the answers on the form before printing it? I have the Adobe 8 free reader download installed, but do not understand what else I need. I guess what I'm trying to do is get the Adobe to work like Word does. Is there any "freeware" available to do this with? This irritates me and makes me feel like the only way I can get it to stop popping up is to go ahead and download it.
