Hi there I have had a problem with my pc for months now. The entire operating system crashes crashes and restarts automatically when the modem is connected and powered on. I have tested to see whether it works when the modem is not powered on and it runs fine with no crashes but when i turn the modem on again i get issues such as OS crashes and screen freezes if it doesn't actually crash. I am connected to my PC via BT Broadband and use Ethernet to connect my PC to the modem. When checking the error message after reboot i usually see the following message: Error code 00000024, parameter1 001902fa, parameter2 f3c836dc, parameter3 f3c833dc, parameter4 f9da06f8. That is baffling to me and i don't know what causes the issue. I even sometimes try logging into Safe Mode and get the crashes but in safe mode the errors are listed as DCOM or Service Control Manager probs. As i said before, this only happens with a powered on Modem (Net connection is fine, pc just crashes) Any help guys? Could the modem as hardware be the problem? ...

When i play halfway thru a 3d game, the computer crashes. It only happened on certain 3d games. Warcraft3 never crashes my pc, while on the other hand, Lineage2 crashes after running it for about 10mins. I ran dxdiag, tested directdraw and direct3d and it showed no errors. I also set ingame display to the lowest possible settings and it still crashes. I don't think it has anything to do with the ram. Might be graphics card damaged, driver error or something? PC specs: Intel Pentium4 2.4GHZ, 766MB RAM, Directx 9.0c, ATI Radeon 9600 Series 128MB ...

I used to play plenty of video games on my PC...it's a decent machine, 2 GB RAM, 3 GHZ processor, about 50 gigs of free space on it now, so the power is not an issue. But I started noticing a few months ago, a new game I tried to install would crash whenever I moved the mouse at the starting menu. I then tried to play an old game that I used to play a lot, and that crashed my computer too. I just now tried installing 2 more games - one crashes at the menu like others I've had, and the other crashes as soon as I click on some help scroll during the tutorial. This happens every time - I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, nothing works. By crashing, the game basically freezes (at the menu or wherever) and I cannot do anything - no alt+tab, ctrl+alt+delete, I have to do a hard restart every time. I've left the screen on for 30 minutes once seeing if it would unfreeze I don't understand what could have happened! Is it a program I installed, or what? Anyone have any ideas of what I can do ...

All my music players crash after about 1 or 2 songs. Firefox crashes after about 20 mins of use. Why??? The system is virtually unusable. Once program crashes it cannot be reopened until rebooting. Why the hell is that? I just upgraded to Mandriva 2007 spring from 2006. It is worthless, what the hell is going on? not even Windows is this unstable (not even close). ...

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do Yes, as I originally stated, I've tried reinstalling. It CANNOT be a single game because this is happening to 5-6 different games I've now installed, with two of them being games I've always played before with no problems...made no major changes to my PC...how can I tell if my video card is failing? I haven't done anything to the hardware of my PC...so would reinstalling the video card driver do any good? If so, how do I do that? And I did not update anything with my video card (to my knowledge at least). I don't even know what kind of video card I have - my PC is 3 years old now, this is the only problem I've ever had with it. Dell 8400. I went to device manager to check out what video card I have...it's a Radeon X300 series. But I noticed that it shows two...under Display Adapters, it says "Radeon X300 Series" and "Radeon X300 Series Secondary." What is that secondary one, a backup card? ...

Hi all. Well lately some of my PC games have been crashing at the most interesting times. It only happens with two games I own and they are Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Splinter Cell Double Agent. It happens as they are loading. Oblivion can get past the title screen and just up to finishing loading then the screen goes black and it crashes. Oblivion was working fine up to about a week ago. That is when I installed SCDA. Double Agent ran fine for about 5-6 days then has started crashing too. I click the icon and it says the executable failed to start. I also noticed my display driver was flipping out when loading a level. It was listed as nvlddmkm. I've also been getting BSOD errors every once in a while as of late.Games were running fine previously.... I have Vista and have updated Direct X and ran DXDiag. My hardware is a Core 2 Duo, 1GB Ram, 7200 RPM 160 GB HDD, and a GeForce 7300LE. I appreciate any tips and sorry bout the long question... - - 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 38398 Application Owner-PC - Morrowind.exe 1.6.0.1820 3ef35891 ntdll.dll 6.0.6000.16386 4549bdc9 c0000005 00061f2a 1fc 01c7df8d772ffa68 That was wrong, sorry the event log is this.... - - 1000 2 100 0x80000000000000 38386 Application Owner-PC - Oblivion.exe 1.2.0.214 45d4c5a7 Oblivion.exe 1.2.0.214 45d4c5a7 c0000005 003f081c a44 01c7df8c7ff40c08 ...

I installed and loaded Oblivion just to test it. It worked. Then I downloaded a gazillion mods, installed them, and it crashed on loading. I disabled ALL the mods and it still crashed. I uninstalled Oblivion, uninstalled ALL mods that came with installers, deleted all the extra files I put in the data folder, deleted old directory, installed Oblivion into the new directory, and it crashes the same way still after a fresh install without mods. There is first this Bethesda intro and then it goes into the loading screen and crashes. The weird thing is, if I?m not quick enough to skip this intro, it crashes in the intro. Seems like it works for 3 or so seconds no matter what, and then crashes. How do I make it work? ...

Whenever I'm in a plane, it baffles me how a crash can claim all the passengers on board in the event of a crash. I'm talking about the commerical jets. I know planes travel at fast fast speeds, but what actually kills the person first on impact? Surely not all planes are crushed like a tin can... therefore, many times certain areas of the plane are still intact. If any of you are experts in physics, or have any other knowledge... I'd like to know why most people don't usually survive plane crashes. For example, September 11th: What do you think killed the people when it crashed into the World Trade Center? The impact of the plane alone when it crashed into the building, or the fire? ...

I went out and bought a new webcam thinking the problem was with my old one, but when I installed the new one the same thing happened. I checked everything I know to check. According to the information on the box, this webcam is compatible with Windows XP home. I don't even have to be connected to the internet. If I click on the webcam button, the system immediately crashes and the computer shuts down and restarts. Also, very strange, ONCE in all the dozens of times I tried to use it, the webcam actually worked with no problem. It crashed every other time, both BEFORE it worked that one time and after. I have tried to use it in Yahoo messenger AND in Skype. The system crashed in both, and as I said, crashed even if I wasn't on the internet. I have an HP Pavilion a335w. I have attached my cam to my laptop and it works fine on there. Any ideas? ...

Whenever I access my Yahoo email using the Firefox browser it ALWAYS crashes. This is the ONLY time that Firefox crashes, and I go to a lot of different sites. I don't understand it. I uninstalled and reinstalled FFand it was fine for a while, but then it started crashing again. It seems to have started when I upgraded Firefox, but now even though I have gone back to a previous version of it, it always crashes. I do not have this problem when I use my other browser, Opera. I prefer Firefox. Is there anything I can do? It seems like maybe Yahoo has a bug and could do something about it so this doesn't happen with a particular browser. Any help appreciated, thanks!  Lightning Crashes: I feel bad about this.. Really... So if you were in situation, what would you do? Question Details: Last week, I submitted my own chords to Ultimate-guitar.com for Live's Lightning Crashes because none of the chords there matched the right tune. I decided to sign up and make my own. I believed it to be the most believable chords for Lightning Crashes but when I checked my mail, it said it was rejected not knowing that it had already been posted there under someone else's account. The set of chords I made for that song was copied entirely except for the other parts that were deleted not to make it obvious that it was copied. When I made the chords, it wasn't there yet. It was newly posted there! It's possible that the one who copied my chords is from Ultimate Guitar and was so convinced with my tabs,,, I really feel bad about this. Do you think I have the right to get angry like this? What would you do if this ever happened to you??? The song has received 5 perfect stars and the pride is no longer mine... I really got the right tune. I made it in the most detailed way in an attempt to convince people that I've got the best one. Since it was so convincing, a person pretending to be a newbie in ultimate-guitar.com copied mine and made a few revisions. The other parts were omitted just to sound like he doesn't know the rest. In fact, I posted the chords from top to bottom. I suppose the person who has that account is from that site and make the good tabs his own... Gosh, how could he... ...
