I have a flat stomach and really want a navel piercing but I have a bit of an outie belly button. I do not have enough skin above my navel for a piercing but I might have enough underneath the navel. Is this called an inverse navel piercing? And what kind of jewellery is available for this type of navel piercing. Ive always loved the ones that have dangling bits, but I guess I wont be able to wear these on this type of piercing?

I am 13 years old, and my father disagrees with all piercings. I asked him on my birthday in September if I could get my navel pierced, and he said no. I left it alone until 2 weeks ago when I asked him again. He once again said no, and told me that if I wanted it done so badly to do it myself. I can promise you he didn't mean it, but oh well. I bought a kit online with the contents of a sterile needle, a navel clamp, a navel jewel, alcohol swab, a needle holder, aftercare solution, and a cork. Can someone please give me directions on how to use this kit to pierce my navel, and directions to correctly care for my new piercing? (No comments saying I shouldn't do it, because I am 13 and I am going to do it regardless of what a bunch of people on the internet, that I barely know, say.) Thanks.

I am 13, and my dad doesn't agree with navel piercings, so I decided to do it myself. It's safer than piercing it with a sewing needle, or a safety pin.

okii, im 14 years of age and i am ready for a navel piercing. i know many girls as young as 10 who have had it done, so i feel ready at the age of 14 to have it done myself.
my mum isnt really a fan of most types of piercings. but she has had a navel piercing before.
hers healed up after 5 years because she had to take it out when going to a health spa, and her skin reacts quickly.
my skin is totally different with piercings compared to hers.
i think most of the time when my mum does not want me 2 have a piercings, its not because she doesnt like them, its mainly because shes a bit worried its going to get infected or heal up like most of her piercings have done.
i havent mentioned the navel piercing to my mum for about 3 years now but the last time i did she said only when im 18! ..i was just wondering if any1 had any tips to make my mum realise my body reacts to piercings in a totally different way to hers =]
any replies would be apprecieted
thanks,

I'm going to get my belly button pierced next week, and I'm afraid. I'm a girl, and I just turned 15. I've never had a piercing before. Not ears, not anything. But I want a navel piercing more than anything.
I've gotten a shot before, which I barely felt. And I've gotten blood drawn from my arm, which hurt, but not bad. Can I compare the piercing to either of these? Or is it worse?
I hear there's a clamp they use to cut of blood near your navel to numb it. Does this hurt worse than the actual piercing? Does the initial piercing last longer than a second? I've heard that by the time you react to the pain, it's done. Is it true?
I took my long nails and pinched my navel as HARD as I can to prepare myself. It hurt like a b!tch, but only for a sec. Can I compare the piercing to this?
Overall, given my age, and the fact that I can withstand a shot/my nails/ blood drawing, could I handle the piercing?
And any tips for a first-timer?
Very good tips so far. But I have more questions.
What cleaning creams/liquids have you used that don't cause infections/problems?
I've heard good things about Bactine and Tea Tree Oil. And bad things about Seabreeze. Idk.
What brand name places did you go to to get your navel piercing? I've heard good things about Tan-Tastic and Tom Spauldings. Maybe Claire's?
It'd be awesome if you could tell me your location and the name of the place you went to.
And also, if your a pro, could you tell me if it would do anything to ice my own navel at home for hours and then go to the place? Haha. But will that do anything, really?
And will it hurt if I took Ibuprofen before I leave for the place? I've heard you shouldn't cause it makes you bleed, but then I've heard you should because all it does is ease the pain.
I'd love some solid answers. And thanks so much to whoever takes the time to truly and thoroughly answer all of my questions.

I had a pierced navel (2 children & 2 c-sections ago). The skin around my navel is a bit saggy, especially the bottom. I'm only 23, so there's a possibility I'll gain back quite a bit more elasticity in my skin. I'm only 5 pounds away from my weight at high school graduation. My goal is to wear a bikini this summer w/o so much saggy appearance of my abdomen. Can a bottom navel piercing and/or top & multiple navel piercings help with the baggy look & can it help with gaining back the elasticity of my skin?

hi, i'm 17 and I have my nose, two holes in each ear, & my standard navel pierced. i've been wanting something different, & i came across an inverse navel piercing. i need to convince my mother to let me get it done, & she definetly does NOT agree with the whole "piercing" concept. for her to let me get my standard navel took almost 2 years of pushing, my nose took about 3 or 4 months. school starts september 5th, & i want it done by then. if anyone knows how i can convince her, tell me please. also, if anyone has it done, any advice? is it worth the trouble?
Thanks! - Lyndsie

One time, I asked my mom if i could get my navel pierced. She said, "No & you would regret it later on". I'm thinking...How is navel piercing regettable? My classmates & friends had their navel pierced & they never regretted it...right?

I'm allergic to most things that are NOT at least 14k gold.So should I get my navel pierced using a 14k navel ring?
I've also been able to ware surgical steel however I haven't worn it for long periods of time.

Hi There, I am 23 years old and got my navel pierced about 2 weeks ago at a profeesional piercing place, I have been cleaning it daily. In the shower with Band-aid foaming wound cleaner(or something like that). Then after work I do a sea salt soak for 10 minutes and another one usually before I got to bed. I have made sure to wear loose fitting close so I don't irrate it, and never touch it with dirty hands. Right now it is very tender and red inside an around the navel. The skin inside and around the navel is dry & peeling. Is this an allergic reaction to the cleaner or maybe the barbell??? I'm not sure. My Piercing has a light yellowy discharge. Am I alone on this one?? Does anyone have any suggestions???

Ok, so when I was about 13 or 14 I got my first navel piercing (top). At first the piercing was fine and I cleaned it, but then it started to get really infected and it looked bad so I took it out. It was also growing out as well. Then on my 15th birthday I tried the top navel piercing again, this time at a different body piercing service. The woman said that the previous piercer did not use enough skin when she pierced it the first time. Unfortanetly, this piercing just grew completely out to and now I have a scar there. I want to get my belly pierced, but this time I'd try it on the bottom of my navel. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions, and could someone please give me an idea of why the piercings grow out, etc? Thanks!
