 It seems HP 2710 gets shorted out in some way when there is a thunderstorm or lightening. MY HP 2710 started blinking and shows Message Error 0x886a6b72 and after going through hours with HP technical support they can't fix my HP Printer. I'm not alone, apparently, I found on eBay, same thing happened to someone selling for scrap his HP 2610. Does anyone know how to fix this problem??? HP sucks as they must know this is going on and should be replacing our printer or at least fixing the printer for free instead of acting dumb. ...

 I have an HP Photosmart M425 digital camera. Problem... I am not a tech expert. Attach cord to camera, uploads photos to My Pictures on my C drive. No problem. but then, can't get pix from My Pictures BACK into the HP program so I can edit. I just can not figure out how to do it & cant figure out their search program. Seems that the program wants to find stuff in E drive, not C. Must be a button there that I cant find, that makes it browse into C. I sent email to HP, got a robot answer, that explains nothing, Will they have a person answer me later? Send me simple directions how to get the pics back into the HP program to edit? A couple times, I figured out how to get the pix into it, and the edit feature is easy. Love the red eye removal. But, every time, I have to fight to figure out how to put photos into the HP program. VERY complicated! If I print from My Pictures without editing, they are too dark. They still have red eye, arent cropped, of course. ...

 I just bought this HP printer yesterday. I am printing my own wedding invitations on glossy presentation paper. When I have the paper type set to presentation paper or plain it prints awesome BUT it smears all over the place. Then i changed paper type to HP Brochure & flyer paper, glossy or hp everyday photo paper, semi gloss and it drys instantly and looks good but the only thing is that all my whites look pink. So I call HP tech support and was on the phone for an hour with them but of course no solution they blamed the paper but it was $45 for 150 sheets so its pretty high quality and yes it is for inkjets not lasers. ...

 Is this feature good and useful or not good and not worth wanting this computer not solely because of this but - considering it as an extra that I might like? I think it could be good cause labelmaker programs are such a pain sometimes and just never work out for me, take too long etc, so I thought this would be great. Also, I really like the tap/swipe controls for volume, launch and play buttons on the HP - much better than the Toshiba volume wheel on the other laptop I have been considering. Overall the Toshiba has more mem and HD but lookswise, HP seems to have paid more attention to details - that at least, to me, are important when buying a laptop. So, pls let me know how this Lightscribe is - is it worth getting the HP for it - and how do you like your HP overall? With the label making programs, it takes me mucccchhh longer than 30 minutes to try to label one - never works or prints right because the labels I have are never the right ones they have in the printing setup and then after all of that effort, I end up throwing everything out and writing on them in magic marker 99% of the time.. so 30 minutes?? -- is nothing. :o) That is quick as far as I am concerned. So, you need a disk to do it with or the program is already loaded? ...

 I bought a store-brand (refilled) color ink cartridge for my HP Officejet (7310xi All-in-One). When I installed it the screen gave a message saying "HP Ink Depleted from Cartridge" (specifically HP ink!). Obviously HP has put a smart chip in their cartridges to detect when "their" ink is depleted, meaning that it knows the cartridge has been refilled. When I tried to print anything in color with that cartridge, the colors were screwed (mostly green). The message and poor print quality were both true on two different printers. So, this may just be a bad cartridge, and I will find out when I exchange it. But... I'm wondering... does anyone know if HP has intentionally programmed their printers to NOT work with refilled cartridges, thus screwing us all and forcing us to by their own ridiculously overpriced cartridges? ...

 I refilled my HP printer's ink rather than buying a original ink of HP coz it is not too expensive... but since i put the ink cartrudge on my HP printer, the ink status window of HP always apearing everytime i load my window reminding me that i hav an empty ink cartidge even it has.. could i deactivate that ink status window manually without replacing a geniune HP ink? ...

 I have an HP 4 in 1 and an hp digital camera. When either of those are loaded onto my laptop, windows will not recognize my wireless cingular edge card and I cannot get online. I had to do a complete recovery without installing any HP software to be able to load the cingular and get online. This took hours and hours of telephone tech help from cingular, HP and misc. techs available to me and with no answers. I contacted a tech friend and he found there were several corrupt windows files. We did a complete recovery, reloaded everything except HP and the cingular wireless worked and is working fine. He said there had to be something in the HP software that corrupted my files and did not allow access to the cingular execute file. If anyone has any answers I would love to be able to install my printer and camera on my laptop. ...

 I used refill ink from IMS to refill the cartridge in my (6 months old) HP 4215 all-in-one printer. After the 3rd refill the printer stopped working. Have used HP printers for over 20 years - never had a problem. Found a reference that HP printers store the identification number (a serial number) from the cartridge. And that it tracks the last 3 cartridges used by the machine. Can find nothing wrong with the printer. Considering how HP "acquired" the phone records of their Board members, have to wonder - will the machine "shut down" if it detects you are not using new HP cartridges? Friends have used the IMS ink to refill their printers - not by HP - several times without any problems. ...

 Hi I bought my HP laptop Pavilion dv1680us with Windows XP Home. Now I upgraded it to Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit). During the installation, most of the drivers were recognized except for built-in webcam, sound device, and built-in microphone. After Windows Update, it is able to recognize sound device and webcam, yet those remain unfunctional along with microphone. Other HP hardwares do not work either (e.g. QuickPlay). Sounds do not play. There is no function to access webcam. MIcrophone remains unfunctional. I also tried the HP drivers website for Windows Vista 32 bit, but there are only a few drivers compared to Windows XP's list. I would like to ask for any advices, any links to those HP hardwares. Thank you for your help. ...

 Have used nothing but HP printers since before 1989. But in the past year 2 new HP printers have been troublesome in use at home. Had a HP OfficeJet 4215 that lasted about 13 months and then blew the print head. Bought a HP 1510xi All-In-One. Paper jams whenever you try to print an envelope. Downloaded software updates last week. Went to print today and the envelope jammed. Now the ON/OFF button flashes - but there is no printing. The error message states: Trouble Printing The TROUBLESHOOTER doesn't handle this - it tells you to print a page. But if it could print a page, there would be no problem. What printer would you recommend? Followed manual's instructions and opened printer - no pieces of paper are inside. I am using right size, and paper weight, for envelopes. ...
