For a school project, I need to teach a modern dance class. I have most of it planned out already, but I'm looking to do an improv or modern dance game. I'd like if it could maybe involve symbols or probability (like Merce Cunningham ideas maybe). Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Hello all, I'm 21. I just recently became interested in taking Modern Dance. I love it!!! It's so fun, but whenever I look around my class everybody seems to be so far advanced (technique, flexiblity, etc) than me.
I have to admit, it intimidates me and I try not to dwell on how great everyone can move. To encourage me my instructor compliments me by saying that I have a lot of emotion in my moves and that even though I'm a beginner, I display a lot of promise. I just hate that I've been gotten such a late start in dance.
I wouldn't mind dancing professionally, but I don't want to be an old fogey dancing with young bucks.
What do you think? Should I continue taking dance seriuosly or should I just enjoy what I have and just dance for my personal enjoyment.

I cant remember the name of this dance piece. Its a modern dance set to a jewish chant. The dancers are in an arc on stage dressed in suits in front of plain wooden chairs. The dance is repeated over and over. Does this sound familier to anybody? Its a very bold and powerful dance it hits you with the music and the shapes that the dancers make I just cant think of the name please help!
Just wanted to let anybody who wanted to know it was Batsheva "minus 16" and excerpt from "Anaphaza" choreographed by ohad naharin

am about to be 20 and i graduated high school at 17. In school I was a officer on my dance team, therefore I was pretty good at modern dance, never ballet. I want to teach dance. OU which is the school near me and that I plan to go to, only offers teaching degrees only in Ballet, Should I go for a performing degree in modern? Or teaching degree in Ballet?? Could I get a teaching job just as easily with a BFA in modern performance?? Im awful at Ballet, Ive been taking classes, but now im not even that good at modern? HELP!!
