If a dead or retired country artist came back for a tour, who would you want to see?

Is Austria worthy a trip? I am joining a tour in Sept. that
is covering France, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.
I am wondering why most tours to the western
Europe don't include Austria (except those easter europe tours or Austria-only tours). Is Salzburg, Vienna, and Graz beautiful? How are they compared to Paris, Venice, Rome,
London?
Does touring Salzburg, Vienna, Graz... require lot of
walking? ( will travel with seniors)
Thanks!

I am considering getting a new bike within next a few months. I currently have Yamaha V-Star 650 custom model, which I have been riding about 3 years. I from time to time wanted to ride more than couple hours on highways, without thinking of overheating, so I have been thinking about getting a Honda VTX1300R, which fits my body profile and other factors. But lately, I began to think about getting a sport touring type bike. I do like cruiser styles over sport types, but when I try to add all those accessaries to block winds, and so on, the cruiser usually gets too bulky and pricy for me. So here goes my question, for those of you have ridden a sport touring bike, is it comfortable long enough on a sport touring bike so that you can ride for a long time compared to riding a cruiser? This question seems to obvious because sport touring is still a touring class, but since I have never ridden one for a long time, I am asking you guys. Thanks.

- KaT - asked this question a while ago, but she didn't get that many answers and it's something I'm really curious about. She phrased it best too so I'll quote her:
"There's mass speculation that, if all goes well during Led Zeppelin's performance during the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert in November, that the group will likely consider touring again (perhaps not worldwide, but a tour nonetheless). However, if the set is abominable, critics believe they will, without question, never perform live together again.
Do you think that any touring possibilities really do ride on the outcome of the concert, or do you think the boys already have their minds made up as to the future of the band?"
Personally, I think that the guys of Led Zeppelin have already made up their minds as to Led Zep's touring future, or lack thereof.
That said, I think that if they aren't planning to tour a great show will change their minds, and vice versa.
What about you guys?

About to embark on a 2-month long US tour as a new member of a fairly established rock band. They are signed to a record label, but tour support is very modest. I am worried that I will not be able to even cover my basic bills (rent, utilities, etc) while away.
I am receiving a total of $1000 + a $10 per diem. Originally the band stated that I was not entitled to any of the profits made from merchandise sales (tshirts, CDs, etc). After discussions, they have now changed their mind and are offering me 20% of sales from T-shirts only, after the printing/shirt costs are recouped. They don't think I am entitled to any profits from CD sales, because I was not on the recordings, and have stated that I get 0% of the CD sales.
The $1000 does not even cover my portion of rent for my home for a single month.
The shows will not be huge... most are at smaller venues/ clubs.
A raw deal or par for the course?
What, generally, should I be expecting to be paid as a touring musician?
Thanks for the opinions so far.
I do like the music a lot and can see a bigger future for the group. I was offered the position of drummer as a permanent member after auditioning. I've known the 2 core members (husband/wife, btw) for years from being in other bands locally, and we've always had a great rapport.
I've been in many bands and have some touring experience on different levels (indie, major) and I've never had to try and convince a band to offer me a cut of the profits. When I hypothetically put myself in their shoes, I would offer all that I could to ensure the general well-being and happiness of a fellow bandmate, at least a fair cut of the profits. It seems odd that they would keep all of the money from CD sales for themselves, well aware of the impending hardships I will soon face.
Also, this band has gone through EIGHT drummers since 1999, all permanent members. I'm #9.
The band will have better tours in the future but I can't help but see red flags. Stick it out or not?

I have this Dream of touring the world. I know Im only going to afford this when I am old, but wouldnt it be better to tour it when one is young and is able to move around better. Is it better to tour the world after you have saved a lot of money when you are lik 60? or is it better to take a year off college or off work (if one can do that) and travel the world then and pay slowly
p.s For example, me and my partner together would make about 130k
reasonable? crazy? i want your opinion
thanks

I am planning to visit Korea and Vietnam (among other places)...and I was wondering whether or not group touring (set up by agencies) are the way to go...or independent touring...setting up a hotel, choosing my own sites to see, etc...
I realize in Vietnam, as an American I can be taken advantage of (I heard this happens even to Vietnamese-Americans)...although, I guess it can happen in any country where there is a different language being spoken...

I know that Radiohead is touring all over Europe in 2008, but I haven't seen any U.S. tour dates as yet. Does anyone know if they plan on touring in the U.S. in '08, and, if so, when they will announce dates?
