i love roller skatin!!! but i want mi skates 2 look cool so do u no any cool things to put on them or a website 2 buy things!?!?!?
...
I have always In-Line skated since i swear they came on the market.
I recently bought brand new skates and found out i'm pregnant.
Its summer so I totally want to go skating! I haven't fallen for a long time, and they say to continue doing the things you did before you pregnant! They say low-impact is best. Which skating sensibly is.
I would speed skate, but if i just leisurly skated and am extra careful about where and how i skate do you think it's still ok to continue? (Obviously not when i'm too far along, just now. (I'm 6 weeks and 3 days!)
...
due to an ankle break two years ago, i gained a lot of weight in the front of my body. i'm 54 and the sucka won't get me down, but i want to change it.
when a kid, i both ice skated and roller skated. the skates that we used here had 4 wheels per skate and a key. you'd use the key to clamp the skates onto standard shoes with separate shoe and sole. it was easy to skate, the skates lasted a long time since you really did not need different sizes each time your shoe size changed, and all you'd need do to stop is put one toe inwards to the other foot. we had few spills.
when i watch someone rollerblading (is that the same as "inline skating"?) outside on the sidewalk, i can see that the stomach area and waistline, at least, seem to get a good workout.
what about the abdominal muscles? is roller skating or rollerblading a good form of exercise to reduce fat in the belly area? TO BE CONTINUED BELOW:
since i had a very badly broken ankle and therefore was laid up and had surgeries to place steel pins and the like into my ankle bones, which are now as healed as they will get (yes, i still get swelling upon walking, but i'll be damned if i don't dance again!), will i be able to balance properly on rollerBLADES?
do you recommend that i get those gym shoes with wheels in them first, before rollerblades?
what do you think i should do with my great willpower, meaning that if i want to rollerblade, i will learn how to do it, and i shall, definitely.
but i need to learn which type of skating i should do to achieve reduction of fat gained from being laid up, i.e., frontal fat, abdominal and stomach area...it sux! i also wish to tone my inner thigh region. i'd guess any skating would help that.
are rollerblades easy to learn having broken my ankle, i mean, to learn how to BALANCE properly?
how does SIZE of shoe work with each type?
do you know if you can get the old kind?
how should i start out? would it be helpful to have my friend there, so i can hold onto her arm?
how long does it take to get "used to" rollerblading when you never had shoes with one line of wheels underneath you?
being that i don't think my physical health (the fatted belly area) is any good, how many minutes a day do you suggest that i start out blading or skating? then, how much more per day until i get up to how many minutes per day to lose that damned fat?
does it tone the abdomen, does it eliminate fat in the abdomen and stomach? i feel like a damned pillow!
what areas have you seen skating tone or help you lose actual body fat at? the thighs? the buttocks? the waistline? the abdomen? the stomach area? does it also help with excess weight in the upper arms because you use them, i guess ??? to balance yourself???
should i get hand gloves too in case i topple? do i need a helmet? yes, i'll get knee pads. any other sorts of pads needed?
THANKS!

I have always been rollerblading and its been a huge hobby of mine but now I want to get into aggressive inline skating because it seems like so much fun.
1) What are some good skates to get for aggressive inline skating? I have seen Rollerblade and Razer but I'm not sure what to get.
2) Where can I get these skates? I want to get it in a store so I have a chance to try them on.
3) How should I begin my quest to become a good aggressive inline skater?
I live on the border of Long Island and New York City so if you can give me places where I can go to find skates that would be great and any help is appreciated.
Last thing which is totally unrelated: In what kind of a store can I get a black beanie with a visor? I can't seem to find them anywhere in stores.

Just bought these! Im gonna replace the wheels anyway, will this help? My right skate does fine, but with my left skate, I seem to have to fight to keep it straight. I am replacing with black sure grips, and fo -mac mix, to make for good skating, but whats the use if my left is gonna be crooked? Or, is ths something that happens with new skates, and you have to break them in? Someone help. This pisses me off. I expect it from rentals.

When I was in high school, inline skating was all the rage. My friends and I used to skate nearly every day, and I became a great skater. It seems to have faded out though, and sometimes when I skate now I feel like a dumbass. Any ideas on way skate boarding has remained popular where inline skating has not? Maybe because boarding is more eXtreme?
No, I don't like it. I was doin it to be cool. Not what I was asking.

it sounds completely stupid, but i'd love to learn to figure-skate and jump and twirl and do lifts.
okay, now that i've officially made myself sound like an idiot, here it is. i am 16 now, with little instruction that would help with ice-skating/agility (i took gymnastics for a few years) but i'd love to learn. my question: is it too late?
i'm thin and in pretty good shape, yes, but not very graceful, and not very flexible. i do just fine, but you won't see me putting my foot over my head any time soon.
still, i'd love to skate. not just around in a circle, but actually learn the art of figure-skating. anyone in the same boat? any idea where i might start off?
serious answers only, please. thank you! =)
thank you to everyone so far...here's for the record:
yes, i'd really, really like to make it one of my main focuses.
and i do roller-blade and ice-skate, though not as much as i used to.
flychicc420 (and everyone else): sorry if i didn't specify, which i sometimes forget that i should, but i am a guy. =) no worries though--and honest mistake.

Hi, well I have always loved ice skating as a sport, it is just so wonderful. But the thing is I have never skated before. My mom got me a beautiful pair of skates and I really want lessons. I am 14 years old and I kind of think I am too old to start beginner lessons. And I am starting a modelling coarse which is only on saturdays but I am nervous my mom will say no if I ask her for skating lessons.
Is it a good idea or am I just too old and don't have a shot
Please help
This is for like figure skating
So you guys don't think that I could become like at the olympic level? I mean I guess I didn't really expect to but I could still do competitions right

Me and my friends were all going to ask out the girls we like to go ice staking. One of my friend doesn't skate well while me and the other friend can skate very well since we are both hockey players. We all decided this isalways fun for us to go to, so why not invite our crushes? Well we don't know if they can skate at all. What should I do? Change where we go since we haven't asked them yet or just hope they like skating?

does having proper skate shoes make you have a more better chance of learning the skateboard easier? i have kind of like skating shoes but they were only about 10 pounds. they are flast bottom but the grip of the shoe has patterns of shapes like this <><><><> are these good shoes to skate in you think?
