I've been married to my husband for several years. He's from Russia and we have a son. My husband and I speak English together. Sometimes his parents speak Russian and I'm left out of conversations, but rarely. Now we're teaching our son Russian and I wonder if I should learn Russian too. I haven't been motivated, because my husband and his family speak English when I'm around. My husband's taught me some Russian words, but he didn't seem to care if I learned Russian or not. Should I learn Russian? If so, what's the easiest way to learn Russian? Should I have my husband teach me, get audio tapes at the library, or take a Russian language course?

I came to the USA from Russia when i was 9 1/2 knowing only Russian. Now at 17 I learned how to speak English and in exchange lost a lot of my Russian. I'v been wanting to catch back up on my Russian and was wondering is if any one or know any fluent Russian speaking Russian. I live in Decatur, GA and will love to find somebody to speak with who lives in Decatur. I know that their is a Russian speaking meeting group in Atlanta that come together to speak/learn/practice their Russian, but the youngest you could be is 18. I'm 17 and looking for some help on my russian.

A dear friend of mine would like to meet potential Russian brides, using Russian mail bride service such as Anastasia Russian brides directory ( ). Have you already tried these services? What do you think about them?
We would appreciate replies from people who used these services, and were satisfied or not. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback you provided!!!!!! My impression is that there are bad Russian brides services (as the ones you described) and some good ones. Anyone who married a Russian bride and is still in love?

What's a good Russian, Ukrainian or East European restaurant in Vancouver to have a russian/ukrainian/east european social function.
I'm looking for a place that has a bit of younger crowd, 20's, that is not too small and very clean. I'm thinking of having an event that's going to be more of a business/networking or career based, but the people are going to be mostly younger, in their twenties.
Some russian people also come from places like Ukraine, Belorussia, Syberia or other parts of the world, but still identify themselves as distinctively russian. Please suggest any other places, other than a restaurant if you have any ideas.

Like, I dont know what to name my new dog..My mom suggested a Russian name, since I took Russian for a year..
I was thinking about Pyka (pooka right?), and its supposed to mean like, fluffy, or furry..Or something, I forgot XD
Well, Since they cant pronounce Russian too well, I was thinking of a relatively short name..Something that means like, pretty, or cute, or adorable, etc..In English
Or just any short, nice words in Russian, that means something kinda to describe a dog in English..
We're getting the dog tomorrow, so I could use a bunch of help. :]
P.S.
If it makes any difference
The dog is a girl
...
Wtf?
I just looked up ???? (pooka)
And I guess it means "bunch"
Which is weird..My Russian teacher told me it meant Furry or Fluffy or something..
And I mean, the dog on Anastasia is named ????..
*shrugs*

I'm looking for a free online Russian tutorial/translation website that translates English words in to Russian words that are written in English lettering. I donno how to read the Russian letters. lol.
In any case, does anyone know of any?
Altavista's Babelfish translates English to Russian, but to Russian letters, which is no good, of course.
Thanks in advance for the help!
