 Hi- I am very interested in Global Warming, generally because I love animals, and many of them are on the endagered species list. I do know that it is because we are using too much energy, (ex. cars and machines) and we are putting too much Carbon Dioxide into the air. So much that we can't get enought Oxygen to replace it. (I think it has something to do with our Magnetic Field not sure though) I was hoping there was someone else that would know more about Global Warming.  I now have bailed from the global warming band wagon, not that I agreed in the first place. In southwestern Michigan it is getting colder and snowing sooner then ever before! Today we got a couple of inches of snow, but it didn't stick. 3 years ago we got snow in October and the last snow was May 11! That is 8 month's of snow! Maybe the global warming doesn't include Michigan. The summers are getting colder also. We only have 2 seasons, summer and winter! Yesterday it was close to 80, today it was 30! I am for global warming! I buy 10 cans of hairspray a week , and then I spray them into the air just trying to deplete the ozone! It isn't working! It just keeps getting colder here! All I am seeing is global cooling! What do you guys think? I am going to try and organize a day when everyone buys hairspray, or what ever florocarbon you prefer, and let's try to end the Global Cooling! Who is with me?!  I can't believe so many of you think global warming is a myth concocted by liberals. Either you are not aware of the melting of glaciers and polar ice caps, or you are wearing blinders. Which is it? [ < THE QUESTION] What is debatable is the extent to which human activity is contributing to global warming. Certainly natural forces and climatic cycles are at work, but it would be moronic to conclude that the burning of 80 million barrels of oil plus 20 million tons of coal per day has no effect on the atmosphere, an envelope of gas less than 100 miles thick. And don't get me started again on overpopulation. Besides the issues of global warming, pollution, and species extinction, there is the matter of poverty and territorial conflict. Gore's book and now movie talks about this, yet I also hear the other side of the spectrum where it say it is a bunch of hog wash, Who is right and what link can I go to get information, pro or against the believes of Global Warming.  I know this might sounds a bit exagerated but its not: 1. The death tole will rise to hundreds of thousands more people than what it is now, possibly killing you. EXAMPLE 1: The heat waves, killing thousands of people in Europe were caused by global warming EXAMPLE 2: The floods that are happening all over the world were also caused by global warming. EXAMPLE 3: Sea levels will most likely drown sea shore cities such as: Manhattan, florida and other cities on the coast. 2. By 2050, millions of species of plants and animals will be extinct. You will most liekly be alive when that happens! 3. Heat waves, like in Europe will be much more frequent and allot more deadly 4. Droughts and wild fires could burn what's left of the forests on earth 5. Most likley, all ice in the artic will be gone by 2050. EXAMPLE: One of the largest water sources in the world, the Himalayas, will melt and we will loose 40% of our water, causing severe dehydration and death.  I came across this article while trolling for news on cnn.com. says that the Earth is the hottest it's been in 2000 years. While doubtless many people would claim this to be undeniable proof of Global Warming, I want to know why the earth was so hot 2000 years ago.
