Okay I have a 92 Pontiac Grand Prix, recently our low coolant dummy light came on, then turned off. I checked the coolant level and it was fine. It did this for two days then a leak developed at the water pump where it connects to a set of hosing leading to the throttle body and back around to where I can't see. I fixed this leak and waited 24 hours for the RTV Blue Sealant to cure. I started the car today and it fired up quickly. As I drove down the street the water temp gauge shot up past the red and the low collant dummy light came on. I pulled over, turned of the engine, and checked the collant level, perfectly fine. I waited ten minutes fired the car back up and drove home. When I got home I check the fluid levels again and found I lost alot of coolant but there is no steam coming from the exhaust and no collant in the oil and no leaks anywhere. My question, what could be the problem? Can a bad water pump exhibit the signs described and loose collant without other signs? I'll also add that when I shut off the car there was a burping like sound from the upper radiator hose where it connects to the thermostat. I did check for the heater core (as I have an 85 Corwn Vic that had this problem), no leaks and no smells. I checked the oil there is no bubbles or any indication there is coolant in the oil. Just an unexplained large loss of coolant. Thanks in advance. ...

Well, the light in the car comes on and says that it needs coolant, so I put coolant in it. All is fine, don't see any leaks but every time I drive it, the collant level goes down. I have put over 2 gallons in it and it just keeps going down with no sign of leaks. What could this be? Thanks ...

Car: 94 Camry V6 Wagon. Coolant is overflowing into my overflow tank, then boiling off, thus overheating my engine. I then fill the radiator filler neck with coolant/water. Temperature remains fine for one month, then the process repeats. What's up? thanks. D ...

THIS IS A WEIRD ONE, MY TRANS STARTING WHINING AND NOT SHIFTING, I CHECKED THE FLUID AND IT WAS WATERY, I CHECKED THE COOLANT AND IT WAS PINK AND SMELLED LIKE TRANS FLUID, I FIGURED THE TRANS COOLER IN THE RADIATOR BLEW SO I GOT A NEW RADIATOR AND FLUSHED EVERYTHING, I PUT FLUID IN IT AND IT RAN DOWN THE STREET FINE THEN IT DID IT AGAIN, I CHECKED THE FLUID AND IT WAS WATERY AGAIN! AND THE TRANS FLUID WAS LOW, I CHECK THE COOLANT AND ITS GOT REANS FLUID IN IT AGAIN, SO I KNOW ITS NOT THE RADIATOR. I WAS WONDERING IF WHERE THE TRANS AND MOTOR ARE BOLTED TOGETHER IF IT COULD HAVE A LEAK OR SOMETHING THERE???? IM CLUELESS I NEED SOME HELP ON WHAT THIS COULD BE. FOR THOSE THAT WANT DETAILS ON THE CAR 2002 DODGE NEON 2.0 LITER OH AND YES OF COURSE I DRAINED THE TRANS FLUID AND CLEANED IT UP. well no the trans fluid is not leaking on the ground, im not that dumb. and the radiator wasnt bought used or is a piece of junk and it wasnt cheap, but the answer of not getting all the water out sounds best and makes sense i will take another look and flush the coolant system again. and sorry for the caps for those who make a big deal of nothing. ...

I have a 1996 Chevy Corsica 3./1 V^ that has been great for a long time. It has a lot of miles 138k but it always ran strogn. I got its oil changed regularly collant flush etc. well for a few months now Ive been noticing the smell of collant entering the car and when im out side the car. I park in the same spot every single day both at home and work and i've never seen a spot under the car. Could the antifreeze be getting sucked or burned up in the engine? Also my engine light came on saying code p0420 catalyst system fail. Any ideas? ...

i have a 1994 olds cutlass. For the past 2 months it will say coolant level low, but i go fill it and it only adds a little if needed. The light for low collant level comes and goes as i am driving it, everyday. Today driving home, my check engine light came on and notice my car was overheating and the low coolant light was on. Then when i drove on , the temp dropped fast and went back to normal. Could it be the thermostat is bad, or maybe something is in the radiator blocking some flow?
