Jeanette is playing in a 9-ball pool tournament. She will win if she sinks the 9-ball from the final rack, so she needs to line up her shot precisely. Both the cue ball and the 9-ball have mass m, and the cue ball is hit at an initial speed of v_i. Jeanette carefully hits the cue ball into the 9-ball off center, so that when the balls collide, they move away from each other at the same angle theta from the direction in which the cue ball was originally traveling. Furthermore, after the collision, the cue ball moves away at speed v_f, while the 9-ball moves at speed v_9
For the purposes of this problem, assume that the collision is perfectly elastic, neglect friction, and ignore the spinning of the balls..
Find the angle theta that the 9-ball travels away from the horizontal, as shown in the figure.

I just bought a 2003 Ford Crown VIctoria P71 (Police Interceptor edition) and I need the lower ball joints replaced, and one of the upper ball joints replaced.
No one seems to know where I can find some after market parts for this.
What mechanics are telling me is that Ford stopped making just the ball joints and now I have to buy the entire control arm for the parts I need.
My control arms are good, is it possible just to replace the ball joints if I found a place that had them available?
And if so where could I find them?
So far the quotes I have range from 900 to 1020.08 with $693.00 going toward the control arms.
I am assuming that just getting the two lower ball joints and the one upper ball joint is cheaper than paying for control arms that I dont need.
Also, for the Police Interceptor I was told that the Upper ball joints I could use just the regular Crown Victoria parts but for the Lower Ball joints I need more expensive heavy duty parts.
Is that true?
I need to get this done because the car is really really hard to steer and I think it is because of the ball joints.
The Power Steering fluid is fine.
But I can't afford an extra 500 dollars for parts that I dont need.
Can I just replace the ball joints?
Do I need Special heavy duty lower ball joints for the Police Interceptor?
If I can just replace the ball joints where can I find them?

(a) A person throws a rubber lacrosse ball (mass 0.250 kg) vertically upwards
with an initial speed of 9.81 m/s. The ball reaches the top of its trajectory and returns to
the person?s hand, travelling at 9.81 m/s in a downward direction. The positive y-direction
is taken to be vertically upward throughout this Exercise.
(i) Calculate the time the ball was in the air (from launch to the time at which it returned
to the person?s hand.)
(ii) Calculate the change of momentum py of the ball for the interval calculated in (i).
(iii) Based on the definition of impulse as a product of force and time interval, calculate the
impulse Jy delivered to the ball by the force of gravity (i.e., by the weight of the ball) in
the interval calculated in (i). Your answer should be the same as the change of momentum
found in part (ii).
(b) Now the person moves into a parking garage. The lacrosse ball is again thrown vertically
upward with the same initial speed. This time, the ball hits the horizontal concrete ceiling
of the garage 2.45 m above the launch point. The impulsive collision between ball and
ceiling lasts 0.0500 s. Immediately before and after the collision, the ball has the same
speed. However, after the collision the velocity of the ball is vertically downward, rather
than upward.
(i) Calculate the speed of the ball when it hit the ceiling, and find the change of momentum
of the ball during the 0.05 s collision.
(ii) Calculate the impulse (Jy)gravity delivered to the ball by the force of gravity during the
0.05 s collision.
(iii) You should find that the impulse due to gravity is almost negligible during the 0.05 s
collision. What is this impulse expressed as a fraction of the total impulse due to all forces
acting on the ball in the collision?
(iv) Use the impulse-momentum theorem to calculate the impulse (Jy)ceiling delivered to the
ball by the contact force exerted on it by the concrete ceiling.
(v) Calculate the average force exerted by the ceiling on the ball during the 0.05 s collision.

Sorry for asking such a lame question, but I just started playing and I am unsure when I can have the cue ball in my hand. Please correct me if I am wrong, it is when
1) The cue ball hits no ball
2) The cue ball hits the opponent's ball
3) The cue ball flies off the table
4) The cue ball hits the black ball when it's not supposed to be hit.
5) The cue ball goes in to the pocket
Are these 5 cases correct? Are there more?

If you have a ball mouse, you might want to read this. Heck, even if you don't have a ball mouse, you should read this:
If a mouse fails to operate or should it perform erratically, it may need a ball replacement. Mouse balls are now available as FRU (Field Replacement Units). Because of the delicate nature of this procedure, a replacement of mouse balls should only be attempted by properly trained personnel. Before proceeding, determine the type of mouse balls by
examining the underside of the mouse. Domestic balls will be larger and harder than foreign balls. Ball removal procedures differ depending upon the manufacturer of the mouse. Foreign balls can be replaced using the pop off method. Domestic balls
are replaced by using the twist off method. Mouse balls are not usually static sensitive. However, excessive handling can result in sudden discharge.
Upon completion of ball replacement, the mouse may be used immediately.
It is recommended that each person have a pair of spare balls for maintaining
optimum customer satisfaction. Any customer missing his balls should contact the local personnel in charge of removing and replacing these necessary items.
Please keep in mind that a customer without properly working balls is an unhappy customer.

In BCA 9 ball rules you have to hit the object ball first and some ball (any) ball afterwards has to touch the rail or it is a "foul"....shooter up gets ball in hand........you are shooting the object ball straight into the side pocket...the cue ball stops in the center not touching any rail....the object ball hits the back of the "pocket" not the rail and comes back to the center....no "rail" is touched.......is this a foul??

Currently when I goto the bowling alley, I grab a plastic house ball that is normally 12-13 lbs heavy. I normally use a ball that my thumb and fingers are about 2-2 1/2 inches apart. My buddy just gave me his Ebonite 100 Nitro/R2 15 lb ball which is drilled to his specifications. Our hands are the same size. I need some advice on wether or not I should use a lighter ball. Going thru the motions with his ball tonight, my hands are flat on the ball and I think my wrist may be too weak. Do all good bowlers have their balls drilled so that their hands are flat with the ball? Would it be smart to buy say a 13 lb bowling ball instead? I am thinking that maybe the holes are drilled too far apart for me to be comfortable with my wrist. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am 5'11 200 lbs and I am a strong kid, shouldn't I be using a heavy ball?

A batted ball was hit on a line drive to the pitcher, the momentum of the batted ball knocked the glove from the pitchers hand. The glove, with the ball stuck in it fell to the ground. The ball remained stuck in the glove and NEVER touched the ground. ISA rules Sec. 52 "In flight describes any batted, thrown, or pitched ball that has not yet touched the ground or some object other than a fielder". Any other rules that may apply?

Should you hit the clustered ball hard or soft when braking out the clustered balls. And still maintain cue ball control. It seems to me that its kind of shooting for luck when after you make the objective ball you ram the cue ball into clustered balls. Also what do you think I should do when I played this girl for 10 hour of sex what ever I want to do if I won.If she won she would have gotten alot of money . Well I won and now she doesnt want to honour that bet.

ok..in every pokemon game there is a combination and timing of certain buttons that makes the master ball out of any other ball...i'd like to kno if anyone found the one for d/p? well i'd like to kno because i have found one..complicated and hard to do but i'll explain...u select a ball and wen its going through the air hold a + select for .5 seconds, then let go of both buttons quickly and hold a again for .5 seconds..if done corectly the ball should be just about to open..once it does hold x + y + a + b + select and hold till the ball captures...if the ball rolls 2 times chances are it worked..it requires practice and skill..it does work i catured the legendary trio and dialga with one ball --ultra...well if anyone else found a combination that worked i'd like to kno..for knowlage..and i hope other ppl can find this helpful..
P.S. if it dosn't work keep trying i mess up sometimes too

I have been bowling for about 3 years now and alot has changed in the way I bowl. I used to love dry lanes and big hook, but I have grown to a different style and I am having some trouble.
The ball I have now (other than my plastic ball) has alot of hook but I have trouble as lane conditions change and my plastic ball just doesn't have enough hook.
I now start from the 10-15 board and throw pretty much straight down the 10 board and let the ball fly in the pocket from there. I am pretty consistent, but I end up having to switch balls early, and the poly ball doesn't have quite enough hook. What is a good ball for my bowling style?

If you are familiar with gamma then please help me with this...
i am trying to figure out which purchase will get me the best value. But it is hard for me to do this if I do not know if certain balls will last longer than others.
Compare and contrast these two things
Gamma 18 Pack Bag-O-Balls- Permanent Pressure Practice Balls
and
Gamma Pressurized Practice Balls - 8 Pack
I understand that one of them has a much lower price per tennis ball, but will one of these type of balls last longer than the other??? Please answer from experience, or link to a site that has some reviews specifically for these types of tennis balls. Thanks. (and do not try to advise me against purchasing gamma tennis balls. I need a large quantity that will last for a while, so the traditional Wilson and Penn just don't do the trick)

If you attach a string to a ball and begin swinging it around your head, the ball will travel in a cirlce. Lets's suppose that the ball is traveling counterclackwise, as viewed from over head.
A. Although the ball is traveling with a constant speed, it is accelerating. Which was is it accelerating?
B. In which direction is the net force on the ball?
C. Inwhich direction is the ball traveling at the moment the ball passes directly in front of you?
D. If you let go of the string at the moment the ball passes directly in front of you will the ball travel? why?
E. You feel an outward tug on the string, yet there is no outward force on the ball. The only way that the ball can tug on the string is if the string is tugging on the ball. What effect does the string's pull have on the ball if there isn't any outward force on the ball?

There are 48 balls in a lotto machine. The balls are numbered 1-16 and there are 3 sets of each number. Each ball is randomly selected and is not put back into the machine. If a same numbered ball is repeated before all the 1-15 balls are selected the game is over. The balls do not have to be selected in numerical order. Also if the 16 ball is selected at any time the game is over. In other words how often will all 15 balls be selected once and then on the 16th selection a ball 1-15 will be repeated. Also how many times will a ball be selected a second time on exactly the 10th try? 11th,12th,13th,14th and 15th tries?

My girlfriend lays me down on the floor and connects 2 big pieces of boards with a hole in each end to me and uses it a a "floor" with my "stuff" totally isolated. She then stands with full weight, stomps, and grinds her feet in my balls. She flattens them to about as flat as oreo cookies and bounces. It hurts very bad but she somehow forces me to come like that. She recently did it with high heels on and I blacked out for a few minutes and they turned purple. Im pretty sure she broke veins in my balls cause some blood came out of my member. For some sick reason I want her to let her do it again cause got more aroused thatn she ever has before from doing it. I want to know if she pops my balls, can I get a ball transplant and still be able to come??? she said as long as she doesnt break the little tubes that attatch to them I would be able to. Anyone know about this sort of thing??

i just bought a 3 ft ball at a reptile place for 40 bucks ( i couldnt pass it up) i have concerns however. the place was a little shady or maybe it was just me. i didnt get no receipt or anything. i find it hard to believe they would just sell any size ball for only 40 bucks a pop. again maybe its just me. i checked for the usual mites, flicker tongue, clear eyes. all seemed good. i own 2 snakes currently one is a ball and the other is a corn this would be my second ball. im curious however on how to check for mites, like whats a dead giveaway that a ball has mites or any other diseases i should check up on. any info on general health of balls i should check for would help me alot. thanksssssss

The mass of the ball is 1.32 kg, and the mass of the block is 2.32 kg. The length of the wire is 1.26 m.
(a1) What is the algebraic expression for the speed of the ball just before the collision with the block? Express your answer in terms of the length L of the wire and the magnitude g of the acceleration due to gravity.
(a2) What is the v of the ball just before the collision with the block? The direction to the right, parallel to the horizontal frictionless surface, is the positive direction. Include a plus or minus sign in your answer to denote direction.
(b1) What is the algebraic expression for the velocity vf of the ball just after the collision with the block takes place? Express your answer in terms of the mass mball of the ball, the mass mblock of the block, and the v of the ball just before the collision. The direction to the right, parallel to the horizontal frictionless surface, is the + direction.
