i opened up a joint back account, which is in a different city than where i am now (about 2 hours away). they sent my fiance and i a mastercard debit card for each of us. well it turns out that the only way to activate the cards is to use them at an atm to get an inquiry. so we tried that and it does not work. the screen says the card is not valid. i called my bank and reported the problem and they said they would call me back, but they never did. the card completely unusable, which is odd because neither of the cards have ever been used before. there's money in the account, but we cannot access it because the card won't work. what can i do??? thanks in advance!

hi,
i really wanna know what i can do about mastercard. they have been so unprofessional that i cant even begin to describe it.
My card was stolen and i was supposed to recieve a phone call to confirm that they were going to send me a new card with the funds placed back onto it. I was told I would recieve this call in 1 - 3 business days.
It has been 6 weeks now and I still have not recieved that call. I have been calling mastercard every 2nd or 3rd day and asking them about what is going on and I am still getting the same answer. "You will recieve a call as soon as possible."
Is there ANYTHING that i can do. Are there any legal things (for all you lawyers on here) that i can do such as sue mastercard for this or something that I can do so that I can actually get MY money .... that they have ...... basically stolen!!
Please help me!!

I got my first credit card a couple months ago. It's a Visa Worldpoints card from Bank of America with a 6 month 0% APR promotion. Starting next February, I've been told, my APR will be like 11%
I have also been recently offered a Bank of America MasterCard that has 0% APR on all transfers and credit checks, but not store purchases for 12 months. After that, my APR will be like 15%.
Talking to the lady on the phone about the MasterCard did not give me good feelings, not to mention the fact that my parents were in deep with them for a good part of my childhood.
My question is, for those who have had experience with Visa and/or MasterCard, from Bank of America or otherwise (please specify)what have your experiences been and what do you suggest I do? Is MasterCard really as evil as it sounds?

Hi guys,
Happy Holidays and Happy New year. I currently have a Washington Mutual/ Mastercard debit card. Has anyone used a mastercard in mexico and central america? Have you had any problems? I've heard of people switching banks so that they can get a Visa because it is mostly accepted in central America.
Is this really neccessary? it's too much of a hassle seeing that I'll be leaving the 22nd of Jan.
Any suggestions?

in the mastercard commercial, it shows some random stuff and says "for everything else there's mastercard." what does this mean? why do they show some random things? is it trying to say mastercard is the only way to buy stuff?

the bank from the Philippines (BDO) that issued my mastercard electronic atm told me that i can only withdraw cash from mastercard electronic atm's and not on a mastercard atm. How about cirrus/maestro atm's? can i withdraw on this atm with these marks?

You've got to love this guy. This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place at Clemson University . It was in the local newspaper and even Jay Leno mentioned it. It was a huge wedding with about 300 guests.
After the wedding, at the reception, the groom got up on stage with a Microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding.
He especially wanted to thank the bride's and his family and to thank his new Father-in-law for providing such a lavish reception. As a token of his deep appreciation he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift just from him. So taped to the bottom of everyone's chair, including the wedding party was an envelope. He said this was his gift to everyone, and asked them to open their envelope.
Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 glossy of his bride having sex with the best man. The groom had gotten suspicious of them weeks earlier and had hired a private detective to tail them.
After just standing there, just watching the guests' reactions for a Couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said, "F--- you!" Then he turned to his bride and said, "F--- you!" Then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said, "I'm outta here."
He had the marriage annulled first thing in the morning. While most people would have canceled the wedding immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with the charade, as if nothing were wrong.
His revenge--making the bride's parents pay over $32,000 for a 300 guest wedding and reception, and best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputations in front of 300 friends and family members. This guy has balls the size of church bells.
Do you think we might get a MasterCard "priceless" commercial out of this?
Elegant wedding reception for 300 family members and friends: $32,000.
Wedding photographs commemorating the Occasion: $3,000
Deluxe two week honeymoon accommodations in Maui : $8,500
The look on everyone's face when they see the 8x10 glossy of the bride humping the best man: Priceless
There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's MASTERCARD!
