 Today I picked up a DVD of Rod Stewart at Albert Hall. The performance was just before Gr Am Songbook III came out...old. I am the first to admit that these old songs, beautiful as they are, and as well as Rod does them, are starting to stink of money...fat money in Rod's wallet!! And I wish he would do a new rock album that doesn't suck (did anyone actually enjoy Human?) or rely on recycling all his old rock songs in ANOTHER Greatest Hits type album. Having said all that, I am a lifelong fan, having followed Rod (emotionally) through all the good and bad. I know every song and I do love that cocky bastard! Anyway, back to this recent video presentation from Albert Hall. Did anyone see it? Did anyone notice, esp during the rock portion of the concert, that he just seems more comfortable than ever? He had an easiness in his walk, a peace on his face, a smoothness in his voice, none of which had to do with his experience in the limelight. Comments? Anyone agree? If so, why? ...

 Where can I write to Rod Stewart. I love his late songs. I've never heard him sing with female artists, but I would like to sing with him. I'm not famous, but I do sing. I am to old to try to make a name for myself or get on American Idol. I have MS and my greatest dram is to sing a song with a big band, to watch a song being recorded and sing a song with a top Artist. I think Rod Stewart fits that bill.  Just went to the 03/15/07 Rod Stewart song, and he sang a song that included the lyrics "meet a girl, get married". It is a slow song that he is singing as an older man to a younger man (as far as I can tell). He showed pics of his father, son, friends and other men in his life.
