 I heard that you can break your hymen by sports, horseback riding... Okay well when/if it breaks from any of those reasons will it hurt and you start bleeding.  hey everybody. i just have a few questions. OKAY yes i've heard all about the hymen breaking from exercise, bike riding, masturbation, tampons. some people say it can't happen, but i'm not too sure i believe them. i've used tampons a lot, i use them basically throughout my whole period.i masturbate everyday. i have a vibrator (i don't insert it) but i insert my fingers as far as I can put them in. my mom mentioned taking me to the gyn to get checked just to see if everything is ok. but what if my hymen is broken, because i am under 18 the doctor has to tell my mom everything. i mean i can always tell the gyn that i masturbate if he asks but if he tells my mom.. she will most likely FREAK on me. also, i heard the hymen is in the front and i heard its deep in there. but i looked it up and the encyclopedia says its in the front, by the opening. is it possible i broke my hymen already? should i be worried about goin to the gyn? thanks for your help, its much appreciated !!!! thank you very much.  Could your hymen changed from a crescent-shaped hymen to a redundant or fimbriated hymen? I've been worried recently that I'm pregnant (even though a pregnancy test said I wasn't) and redundant hymens are often apparent in people with high estrogen (which increases during pregnancy) and I've noticed that my hymen is redundant and feel like it could have previously been crescent-shaped.  Iv'e read about it quiet a bit, but I haven't found anything about the hymen (cherry) being broken during masturbation. I understand that the hymen is usually broken during intercourse for the first time, assuming the girl still has one. I know that sometime a girl never had one, and if she did she may of broken it herself by tampon use or physical activity. Also I've read that the hymen can be broken during masturbation if the person was using a dildo, which would make sense because they are the same size as a penis.  I was looking over a case in which a guy was falsely accused of raping his stepdaughter and her friend. The charges were dismissed because the "Teenagers" medical reports stated "within normal limits (WML)" and "No Transections" in the hymens. It was alleged that they were forcefully raped. A coposcopy was performed and nothing came back. At first I thought "Hey since one didn't report it for 4 months and the other for 45 days, maybe the hymens grew back.
