Welcome to Kotting's Home for the Lost Where deserted children share their pain Here dear orphans stay, no cost Here, at Kotting's, it always rains There are no smiles yet no frowns The children stare, listless, at the walls They've memorized the familiar sounds And traced the cobwebs in the halls Kotting's gloom and flickering lights Reflect the haunted looks in their eyes And all along the stair flights Echo the orphans' anguished cries Rain, like cloud-tears for the children, pours The residents don't cry; sky-showers replace Long ago orphan hearts closed the doors On crying, happiness, a loving embrace And still the dreary days inch past Yet somehow the kids manage here While most would not a week last The orphans live here year after year Here at Kotting's, it always rains Here dear orphans stay, no cost Where deserted children share their pain, Welcome to Kotting's Home for the Lost ------- ...Depressing, but it's supposed to be. Thoughts? ...

I deal with public all day and I was wondering if anyone else has had to welcome the new humans to earth. ...

I've just read in an Oxford dictionary this sentence: ....I was not welcome AT the meeting. With the verb one says "They WELCOMED me TO the meeting." Why should one change the preposition and use AT when using the adjective WELCOME??? Can anyone tell me what is the best use of these two prepositions combined with WELCOME(adjective) and WELCOME (verb) ? I'm sorry but now I'm totally confused!!! Thanks a lot. I do AGREE with you Stiggy!! Then I hope one can safely say: WELCOME TO London, Bob! WELCOME TO my flat, Mr Green!!! ...

Yeah, hey, we know the score, it's all corrupt, except the poor And they're next, then the flowers, shoot the lights, party's over Fill the air with your denial, rain down on the rank-and-file Nowhere is the place you'll be, everybody's there, human feces Hear the music, face the pain, listen up, life ain't no game It's Animal Planet, razor's edge, 3 Stooges, nuclear knowledge Give it up, the truth ain't there, we made it up, and so beware All words are lies comin' from The Man, scream loud if you can Save yourself, save the world, you know you can do that, girl Everything ends in the mirror, window minds see much clearer In the end it's all the same, spiral staircase, ana' broken chain Heaven is a brand new car, and only that will take you far, so Let it go, it's complicated, way too big to be sedated Reason is what you make it, purpose is how you shape it Raw emotions take you down, if you let them hang 'round, so Welcome,Welcome to The World, can ya' hear it? Welcome 2nd chorus...(body a' bouncin' So fill it up with Supa! Fill it up with Supa! Fill it up with Supa!' Then burn it up again, yaw! (repeat once) Then rippin', mind-blowing, anthem-like guitar solo... Do you dare hear me play it?!? Beware my deeply disturbing power riff... ...
