if the tranny gets overfilled and it gets into the mechanisms will it cause the tranny to sift weird, or how will i know if it has hurt the tranny? I recently had an engine put in my car and there was nothing wrong with it b4. now it shifts bad. idles at high rpms. sometimes driving it feels like its in neutral. it leaks tranny fluid now, but i thinkits coming out of the bottom of the dipstick, top of the tranny because my dipstick is loose but i really can't tell where it comes from. it drips and runs along the bottom of the pan. have suggestions on anything. thank greatly appreciate it.

It's been suggested by people here on Answers that my leaky tranny may only need something as simple as a new seal and some sealant. Sure that sounds cheap if I was doing the fix myself. But if I drive into a tranny shop, they're not going to agree with what I think, they'll want to get me for a rebuild. Outside of having a personal friend in the tranny business how do you get exactly and only what is needed?

I have a '97 Ford taurus, I replaced the engine at 86k mi. now its at 88k and my tranny is gone. should i replace the tranny as well? its frustating but its now the only problem standing in my way. or should i just get another car?

i just wanted to know if any one could help me with a problem that i have. my 98 blazet has a two wheel drive tranny and one of my friend gave me a tranny form a 4x4 blazer. i know that the two wheel drive has a long tailhousing and the 4x4 has the transfercase. i just wanted to know if i could swipe the tranny out and if i could install the tail housing from my two wheel drive tranny in to the 4x4 and would that be a direct fit. could any one help me before i remove the tranny and save my self a problem.
my blazer is a 98 and the 4x4 tranny came from an 02

the tranny down shifts into 2nd at around 45 mph when given fuel i have changed the fluid and screen and changed the modulator valve with no change im not sure where else i need to be looking unless its a valve body problem the tranny has a 17 bolt pan if that helps identify it. if it is a valve body problem what other automatic transmission will bolt up to my 2.3 4 banger i have had this truck since new and this is the first real trouble i have had with it i know its old and i should retire it but i cant bring myself to give up on it yet any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated

Everything went together perfectly fine, no problems, the tranny fluid is at the right level, i've tried adjusting the kick down cable, i've done everything, but the tranny slips horribly when you try to get the car moving. you have to rev the snot out of it before it starts to go anywhere, but once it is moving, it drives alright, and shifts fine. I've changed the filter and gasket, and cleaned out the pan. There wasn't much for shavings stuck to the magnet. I got the tranny out of a junkyard. You think it's just a badly worn tranny, or can you think of simething else that might be causing the problem?

I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500...360 motor and auto tranny....i let the truck sit for about 6 months,before that i just changed the tranny fluid and filter before parking it and now it seems to slip in first gear...it revs high before it starts to go......kinda like a high stall converter.I checked the fluid level and it's full.What could be the problem?
