Hi there,
I currently have mapking GPS software on my phone(HTC TyTN) which is a windows mobile 5 phone and I use a bluetooth GPS receiver. I switch back and fourth between the Mapking and Malsing maps. I find the mapking software to be a bit quirky on my phone and the malsing maps aren't terribly accurate sometimes(as far as calibrations to GPS coordinates).
My question is, is there any other gps nav software for PDAs, or a relatively inexpensive(less than 2000RM) gps nav system(like garmin maybe?) for Malaysia?
Thanks a bunch.
I'm on the 12:10am flight out of SFO tonight and will be in KL Friday afternoon woohooo!!

Today I saw the excellent thriller Firewall starring Harrison Ford.
At one part in the movie there is a section which mentions GPS pet locator technology. The website in the film seems to be ficticious but after consulting the net the availabilty of such equpment seems to be all to real.
However from what I have seen on the net the collars are very big and bulky. can anyone point me in the right direction to the smallest collars for pets, especially a GPS locator collar that would be suitable for cats.
Actually, what I'm really looking for is something similar to the subdermal identity tags that you can get from any reputable vet for about £30 but taken one step further and instead/also incorporating a GPS receiver, thereby doing away with the need for a collar altogether - has the technology got this far yet or is there a line-of-sight issue with it being possible to have a subdermal GPS locator ?
On either collar/subdermal GPS locator who would be the best manufacturer ?

It seemed easy, I turned on my Sony GPS, took pictures, then sync in my computer and saved my pics with GPS info. But.. all the positions were wrong! (The date and time were ok in the camera, I exported the correct log file)
I cant edit any log file with the Sony GPS image tracker software.
How can I delete this GPS info (because its wrong), or edit (type myself the lon and lat info)? Please help me!

Ok I need some help. I want to get a GPS Navigation system put into my car.I really want to get a GPS put into my car. But I've been debating on which one is the best....In Dash?....Portable?....Laptop? Right now I have the Laptop GPS, and of course it is not touchscreen and you have to carry around this laptop (which is really nice to have because I didn't have one before. :) But lets say you go "Off Route"...the in dash and portable will recaculate and reroute you to tell you where to go, but the laptop does not, you have to do it manually. The laptop also has more options that you can put the time in and it will tell you the time that you get there. Does the Portable and In Dash also do that? At least with these, you don't have to use Mapquest anymore.
Which is the best to get, does anyone know. Just need some help in which is best.
I guess I thought they all had voice guidance because even my laptop Microsoft Streets and Roads GPS has voice prompts.

Does GSM not work as GPS? How it is possible to track an individual not using GPS, when he calls to 112/911 with an "old-fashioned" GSM and is not able to to say a word, still when the call hangs up immediately? How can the rescue team find him anyway? There used to be an service called GPS tracker. Where is it now and why? Money?

What website show me a GPS coordinate for a PC which is connected to the website via Internet?
Would you please introduce me a website which shows me GPS coordinate for a PC which is connected to the website via Internet if you would be so kind to me?
I have a PC and Internet access at home, but don't have a GPS machine, and would like to know a GPS coordinates of the home at/via the website.
I tried Google Earth's free version, but it said that only its subscribed version gives a GPS coordinate, so I couldn't get the GPS coordinates of the home.
Thank you for your time and help!

recently, parents have been using GPS technology to track their kids. NO kidding, it's true, like this one dood or dad put a gps tracking device on his daughter's car and checked wherever she went such as a party. But one time this teenager said she'll be going to her friend's house to sleepover but she actually went to a night club and got killed after midnight. that teen couldn't have died if the parents had a gps tracking device on her car so they could pick her up or something. So do you think parents should be allowed to put gps tracking devices on their kids?

On my new enV, I noticed it came preloaded with a free 2 week VZ Navigator. I loaded it up and it told me to enable location. I did, and when it ran it said "Getting GPS" and within 10 sec pinpointed my location. My question is, is there a program or a menu to read this GPS reading, or must I pay the 10 dollars a month to use VZ Navigator, or is it not true GPS at all?
Thank you in advance!

I was looking at some GPS units for running. I saw a lot of GPS units by garmin and one neat design by Ipod and Nike. I was just wondering which GPS units some of you have used for running and what you like about them. I would like to be able to connect it to my computer as well as keep the price within a reasonable range.

I am living in South Korea right now and am an avid trail runner and road cyclist. Not a lot of maps here for me to use. Well at least I haven't found really good ones like National Geographic TOPO. So I was thinking of buying a GPS from home and having it sent over here. However, I don't know if it will work? I am unsure about mapping software for maps of places outside of the U.S. Can I buy a GPS from the states and use it in South Korea? If so, where could I find mapping software that would work with that unit? Also, woudl anyone know about purchasing a GPS in Korea for my purposes?
Thanks,
M

Are all phones GPS compatible? I have an LG VX5200 but I don't know if the GPS service is something that is available on all phones (like if I can just download it off of "Get It Now") or if only certain phones are GPS compatible. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks in advance.

My hobby is metal detecting and I am looking for some mapping/plotting software that will let me input coordinates from a hand help GPS reciever and plot them on a map. Then I would like to be able to go back to these locations using the mapping. Keep in mind that I know absolutely nothing about GPS. Whan I find things with my detector I would like to "mark" the location. Is this a "waypoint"? Then I can go back to these locations for further study. I figure I can plot civil war troop movements this way and find more artifacts. I would also like to use it to mark out a search grid to make sure I am covering the area. I would also like to have the software on my laptop and a USB reciever. Is this what GPS is for/can do for me? If you could suggest an online tutorial also, that would be great. Am I going in the right direction with this?
