We'll be arriving in Vegas around 9 p.m. on a Tuesday in May. We'll stay the entire following day (Wednesday) and leave the next morning (Thursday) by 8:30 a.m. We would like to gamble a little bit of course, see a show, and eat at a buffet, so any recommendations you can make about those things would be great. We are college students so we'll just be staying at the Motel 6 so don't recommend where we should stay; however, if there are some hotels you think we should stop in and see anyway, let us know. Just tell us what we definitely shouldn't miss in the 1 day we're there!

So which one do all of you think is better in your views. I say it is Vegas, because of all the corporate owned casinos and the kind of business it brings along like the big name resturants, shopping and shows. Also all that nice themed art decor that have been done to the casinos Atlantic City,I would say still has a long way to go, but it is a start with Caesar's Pier shopping. Another thing about Vegas, it is a teaching tool for shopping malls and centers in Northen California, Southen California, Washington, Utha, Arizona, and other states and cities. Outside Of Vegas it is the Disney parks shopping areas and it decor. Another thing about AC is there is still not much to do for anyone, when they don't feel like gambling at the moment, but not in Vegas. Another thing about Vegas, is it also teach how to put up ads as a deor for an area of business and retail part of town. Indian casinos are even worst. They are really not as good as the corporate owned ones at all.

I realize this is not a question, more of an opinion; but i don't understand how people can say that Las Vegas is expensive. Expensive compared to what? Boise, ID? I guess. I live in LA, and the rent in LA is what i would call expensive. I lived in Vegas for a year, and the rent was a steal compared to LA. I had a brand new 1 bedroom apt in summerlin that was running for 950 dollars. If this was in LA, it would have run for atleast twice that amount. Vegas is the cheapest place you can live if you want to be entertained 24/7. It has great weather, activities, restaurants, and LA/SD/PHX/Tahoe and the river are all within a morning drive.
So if you are wondering if Vegas is expensive, it just depends on how much you are making. What can make Vegas expensive is falling into the lifestyle. But if you can manage to stay away from the temptations, and go about living a normal life, you'd be amazed by how inexpensive it is.
MOVE TO VEGAS!

My husband's mother and other family members(aunts uncles cousins) live in Las Vegas (northwest and southwest) and we are thinking of moving there with our 2 sons(ages 9 and 5) from Maine where we have been our entire lives. Is it possible to have a happy Christian family life there and can we find a safe kid friendly neighborhood? We really would like to try this but I don't want to ruin my family.Schools may not be an issue as I plan to homeschool. But I would like to be able for them to play sports and do other social activities without being afraid of gangs or violence.

We have a group going to Vegas this summer. My husband and I have both been (he's been about 5 times, I've been 3 times.) None of the rest of the group has been. We know all the free attractions to show them (the fountains, Freemont Street, etc.) but we haven't ever done much of the club scene in Vegas. Where should we be sure to go as far as nightclubs. I want all of our friends to have a great Vegas experience. Where should we check out? What are the hippest clubs in Vegas right now? Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!

I love the vodka sours in Vegas. Especially at the Plaza, Vegas Club, Sahara, and MGM. I live in the Midwest and have tried every sour mix I can find, but they don't compare to Vegas. How can I find out what they use? I'd love to enjoy a few Vegas drinks between visits.

I am thinking of moving and opening a business in Las Vegas or Reno Nevada. I will likely have children. I love the plentifully activities, great low cost restaurant joints, affordable luxury apartments and night city lights. Here it is....... I have heard that Vegas has a lot of low life's and it is not a place to raise children non the less to bring a lady or even myself. I hear you can not seperate yourself from the negetivity and influenced people of gambeling, street prostitusion and alcohole to under age kids. Is Vegas or Reno a decent place to live and bring up children if I do NOT live next to the strip? Secondly.......I ran across one or more obserd coments online that Vegas has little to do if you DON'T like gambeling and strip clubs, true? My third and Final Question about Vegas is that I am a big INDOOR open Basketball geek. Having lived in Michigan INDOOR open B Ball was populare in the winter as well as the hot summers. What about Vegas?

Having lived almost all my life in the US, Michigan, now planning on moving back from Egypt withen a year. My three final considersions are Portland(but some say not easy to make good friends), Seattle(perhaps to close too DC therefore maybe bias twoard peacefull Muslims) but most atracted to Vegas. The reasons are basicly, full of shops and entertainment, good economy for new small businesses, not too frigid, and a relitivly safe enviorment for a big city.
Las Vegas realy stands out becuase of the very affordable unique and butifull luxury housing and appartments with breath taking views and pools. And certainly the overall cost of living with tax free insentives.
My questions, my concearns about Vegas are the following:
1/ I am one of the vast majority of Muslims who do NOT support terrorist activity, despite the media not allways making their oppinions public. So is Las Vegas a non friendly enviorment for an Arab Muslim?
2/ Do many get burned out in Vegas?
THANKS!!!!!

I plan to leave vegas early morning, heading to Zion, then spend
a few hours in Zion, driving and sightseeing. Leave for Bryce in
late afternoon. Hopefully get to the hotel which is 1 mile away from
the entrance of Bryce, stay overnight, the next day tour the Bryce,
untill early afternoon, then head back to vegas. Is this schedule too
tight? Will the driving much slower in winter than in other seasons, because of the weather condition?
Thanks

Anyone else remember the Las Vegas Thunder, part of the now Defunct IHL? Problem with a Vegas expansion is the economics of it. The Thunder faced facilty problems from day one with over the top leasing problems. Mandalay Bay might have made the ECHL Wranglers a viable team but I think with the revenues needed to support a NHL franchise are not viable in Vegas. The fan base is finicky at best. Why keep tossing in teams to a rapidly dilluted market?
