Hello
Does anyone know the total parts count for the A380? According to an
unattributed internet report, it showed only 1,000,000 parts. To my
way of thinking, that number is a little low. By comparison, the
747-400 has a total of 6,000,000 parts. This number comes from the
Boeing web page on the 747. Taking into consideration the A380 uses
far fewer rivets and the wings are almost 1 piece, I can see how you
could eliminate a few million parts. I have looked on the Airbus A380
family web page but did not see a parts count. I would just
appreciate finding out what the real parts count is.
Thanks

Airbus A380 is the world's largest airliner, but why it has less payload capacity compare to B777-300. A380 has 38 LD3 containers while B777-300 has about 43.
Don't you think that Passengers in A380 have to fly with much less payload than in other aircrafts?
...
most ppl know, more airplane engines= more fuel and emmisions, and the a380 is using 4, and the 777 is only using 2, dont you think the a380 should of been fitted with 3 (85,000 thrust) or 2(200,000 thrust) engines to reduce emissions and save earth? cuz i want to die before the world ends(forget everyone eles, care about your self.!
oh and im just saying, cuz would you have the chances of being in a big plane and dieing cuz of a tail seaperation or rather take the risk of being on one of the 2 planes and one of them will blow up?
oh... damm, i was trying to ask, witch one will be better, 747-8 vs a380 and 777-300ER vs (A###(idk))?

Does anybody know anything about the Airbus A380 going to JFK International Airport in New York City? It says in the amNewYork that it will be here on March 19th. Another A380 will land at LAX in Los Angeles on the same day. The two planes are scheduled to land around 9:00 AM Pacific Time (1:00 PM ET). Does anyone know where at JFK it will be yet? Like which runway, which terminal, etc? Also, which aircraft will it be?
I'm a big Boeing fan, but I don't want to miss this opportunity. Thanks!
The A380 is definitely going to JFK. JFK is a huge airport. The only other airports in the New York metro area are LGA, which is way too small to handle an A380, and Newark, which is in New Jersey. JFK can handle it.
Does anybody know what TIME it will be arriving at JFK (in Eastern Time (ET))? Maybe what time I should arrive if I want to see it? I know it's gonna be crowded, but I want to try anyway. Does anyone know a good spot to see it from?

A380........question?
The Airbus A380 just landed at LAX. It looked like a smooth landing, but in my opinion it look way to big to be up in the air at all regardless of tests. It WAY to huge!!
Why do they always want to push the limits and go "bigger," "More people." They want to start building Cruise ships bigger as well.
Isnt it better just to stick with what is proven safe?
Arent 747's plenty big and effeicient?
I noticed someone commented on it's landing at LAX- your right, as it did sort of skid or something looked funny.
...
which one would you fly on if you could pick. b747or A380. dont say b747 becuse it is a america manafacture. i would want to fly the a380 because it is quiter and smoother and it is more room and alot of fun things on it. what about you

I live on the runway 22L and 22R approach paths of Logan Intl. Airport in Boston, Mass and was wondering if the A380 will be coming to Boston and if so, whether or not I should be able to see it on final. I see a lot of planes during the day already.

BOEING: The 747-8 Intercontinental is more than 10 percent lighter per seat than the A380, and consumes 10 percent less fuel per passenger.
AIRBUS: The A380 is the most economic ......
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
...
Both Airbus and Boeing test their airplanes to absolute destruction. If you research press accounts do you think it broke too soon? , requireing major modifications to the A380?, or did it break when they wanted to break, ie to the design criteria? Big question, take your time.

Hello all
This post/question is in relation to a 2 hr. CNN documentary
of the 10 year anniversary of the Flight 800 accident.
It was wiring of the fuel level probe that was bundled
together beside high-voltage cabin light wiring. The
high-voltage wiring caused a spark which ignited fuel
fumes in the centre tank causing the jet to blow up.
Another factor that didn't help, was the fact
that the cabin air conditioning system on the original
1972 model 747 was placed right above the fuel tank
with only a 3 inch clearance. Does anyone know if
they have been able to reduce the heat levels or
change the location of the cabin air conditioning system
in later models of the jet? Are the wiring bundles for
the fuel level probe and the high-voltage cabin light
wiring still bundled together in the later models?
Regarding the latest Airbus model A380, does anyone
know if the wiring is set up the same as Boeing 747
older and possibly newer models? Does anyone know
if systems engineering at Airbus designed their fuel
tanks to mitigate some of the ignition factors inside the
fuel tank that the 747 has had in its service life?
If anybody knows anything, I would be glad to hear from you.

We are planning our trip to Orlando and I think we will be flying on a 747 which is ok but am wondering if the Virgin Atlantic (with whom we flying) have put into service the A380-800 planes into service yet? If they have which route would they be flying?

At the moment airbus is going through some turbulent moments, with its A380 program. But is this aircraft going to be a success, are the airlines going to be able to sell so many seats on just one flight. What are you views about this super jumbo.
