I live in an area with lots of creeks, bogs and marshes, so every summer there are a bunch of vicious mosquitos around here. Because I am allergic to insect bites, wherever I get a mosquito bite, it swells like crazy and blows up to a huge size. So this summer, I am determined to try to avoid mosquito bites altogether. Can you please recommend to me a really effective mosquito repellent that won't kill me in the process? I'd like to use a product that is least toxic to humans while simultaneous being very effective. And any other general anti-mosquito tips would be appreciated as well. I hate mosquitos! They are the bane of my existence in the summer. Thanks so much for your help! ...

Recently there been an influx of huge a*ss mosquitoes around my house. I'm a little wary of using insecticides and all and I was wondering are there any natural mosquito repelants that aren't harmful to babies and are easily obtained? I've heard and tested that vanilla extract and water solution on skin does the trick (obviously not great if you want to keep a whole room or the porch mosquito free), and at some science show when I was channel surfing that the sound of male mosquitoes' hum also keeps away female mosquitoes. Any ideas? Is vanilla a tree or a plant? ...

I live in Florida and we never kill the mosquito eater bugs, we just let them hang out around the house because, we are hoping that they will eat the mosquitoes that got inside. Does anyone know if they really eat mosquitoes? When I say mosquito eater/mosquito hawk I mean those large bugs that basicly look like mosquitos just bigger and spindly ...

I think I may be more allergic to mosquito bites than the normal person. Lately I have been getting eaten up by mosquitos and they become HUGE welts. I dont mean no tiny welt like most people get, these get the size of a quarter and bigger. Also after a day or two the welts become a rash that itches more than the welt did. The rash gets crusty. Every mosquito bite ive gotten has turned into a rash so far. (since moving to FL ,. this never happened before ) Im wondering why its doing this. Is there something I can put on it to make the rash go away, ive been using Cortisone cream. Why are my mosquito bites become nasty rashes? ...

Mosquitoes create all sorts of disease and sleepless nights. Repelling Mosquitoes with chemical repellents are not advisable as they are harmful to children and elderly and choke breathing. Natural repellents such as Citronella oil is untolerable and lead to headache. Have anybody tried the following methods? A) Blowing Mosquitoes with high speed table fan b) Use Mosquito electric bat with a beit on it to attract Mosquitoes and kill them. Your suggestions or other safe methods for repelling mosquitoes are welcome. ...

I have ever read the article that actually human being has pheromone that will attract mosquito to bite. That's why there is product called mosquito repellant that will cover the pheromone from human body so that mosquito can not "smell" it. But I would like to know whether there is any relation between "blood type" with the "human pheromone"? So that the human being with "B" blood type will attract mosquito more than others? Is it because the pheromone in human with "B" blood type stronger than other blood types? Please help. Thanking you in advance for your kindness. ...

I'm trying to get the mosquito ringtone (that adults can't hear) on my phone, but when I type it in on the phone's searchbox nothing comes up for 'mosquito' that has to do with the actual mosquito ringtone.  Why do the big cities like Dallas Tx. spray for mosquito's instead of encouraging people to buy or build Purple Martin house's? I hear about Mosquito's and West Nile all the time around this time of year and all I hear is about this chemical or that chemical. I think they should tell people that Purple Martin's eat mosquito's and is a healthier alternative than chemicals, plus brings nature to your yard! How about you? Did you know that? cool, I didn't think of that! I steal don't understand why you never here on the news about alternatives for getting rid of mosquito's other than chemicals!! Barn Swallows are cousin's to the Martin's, and I have them at my house and I think they are beautiful! They have their mud house on my house, and it doesn't bother me, but I love birds! Most birds carry lice, but that shouldn't be a problem unless their hanging out on you. Just me, thanks for that info. It's steal a plus to have them sense they eat grasshoppers, another problem I have here in the country. ooooolala, I like the link for building a Martin house. ...
