 I have a 1993 Chevy Surburban 4x4 silverado model, it has a 4L60E, i got a 4l60e Tranny from the junkyard, it had 12 pins but it had a different transfer case and had a different letter on the tranny, my tranny has a K on it. I called another junkyard and they said they had the same tranny but it was coming out of a S10 and the gear ratio was different,? My Question will it work on my truck so long as its a 4l60e and if not what other 4l60e can i use? if there is such a thing as different weight classes for the tranny. ...

 thanks for all the info guys. i checked my fluid after i got it out of the mud and it was like a milkshake. i was able to drive it home, ran rough... a little while ago like i said before it smelled burnt...i didnt flush it like i said i just changed the fluid. so what should i do, just say screw it and put in new tranny or have the tourqe converter checked? what would be cheaper, tranny rebulid or new tranny and converter??? let me know ...

 I have a 1967 chevrolet camaro w/ a 350 motor just recently installed. I am wanting to use a 700R4 transmission instead of my turbo 350 tranny, which is what used to be hooked up to it. My question is what changes need to be made in order to fit the 700R4 in there correctly? The 700R4 is 4 inches longer than my turbo 350 tranny! So, obviously i will need a shorter driveshaft, but what other changes will I need to make in order to use this 700R4 tranny? Will I need a different crossmember possibly?? And what else if anything do I need to do before installing the tranny? ...

 i just wanted to know if any one could help me with a problem that i have. my 98 blazet has a two wheel drive tranny and one of my friend gave me a tranny form a 4x4 blazer. i know that the two wheel drive has a long tailhousing and the 4x4 has the transfercase. i just wanted to know if i could swipe the tranny out and if i could install the tail housing from my two wheel drive tranny in to the 4x4 and would that be a direct fit. could any one help me before i remove the tranny and save my self a problem. my blazer is a 98 and the 4x4 tranny came from an 02 ...

 if the tranny gets overfilled and it gets into the mechanisms will it cause the tranny to sift weird, or how will i know if it has hurt the tranny? I recently had an engine put in my car and there was nothing wrong with it b4. now it shifts bad. idles at high rpms. sometimes driving it feels like its in neutral. it leaks tranny fluid now, but i thinkits coming out of the bottom of the dipstick, top of the tranny because my dipstick is loose but i really can't tell where it comes from. it drips and runs along the bottom of the pan. have suggestions on anything. thank greatly appreciate it. ...

 I have a '92 Jeep Cherokee 4x4, 4.0 liter engine. When I pull my trailer, the tranny and engine was overheating. I had put a temp sensor on the tranny fluid line and it would heat up before the engine. The radiator has a tranny cooler built in and there was an auxiliary cooler as well. I removed the small auxiliary cooler and installed a bigger one. The tranny fluid used to run about 200 deg. without pulling the trailer but now with the new cooler, it barely runs 140. I haven't pulled the trailer since I installed the new cooler. SOoooo, Should the tranny fluid be up at the engine temp of 200 or is it OK to run it much cooler? I could put in a bypass valve when I'm not pulling the trailer but I'd rather not. ...

 I have a '90 Cadillac DeVille, pulling away from a stoplight last night the engine started revving & would not slow down even with brakes, as if brakes not working. Approaching next light, had to throw into park to avoid hitting car! (Not good!) Still racing, shut off & restarted, still racing. Repeated 5x, then normal. Going into next gear, start revving again, slowed down, it was fine. Transmission? Only had car 3 mos, don't know when last tranny work/check done. Told at last oil change DON'T add tranny fluid until tranny checked out - could do damage. True? Don't want to hit someone because my car won't stop & don't want to tear up tranny by throwing into park again. How much for tranny work? Very limited funds. What to do? Please help! Thanks guys! What is the best type place to get throttle fixed/cleaned and about how much am I looking at? Can something like this be done at Auto Zone or do I need to take it to my mechanic? Thank you! ...

 hi guys i have a 89 toyota cressida with an atomatic tranny and when i was coming home from work one day im driving then as soon as the tranny shifts to 3rd gear it felt as if im in neutral it was not moving the car at all in 3rd gear, but first and second work fine, the tranny is pretty old to i have been planning on rebuilding it but i would like to pinpoint the problem before i do anything. i will appriciate any comments please thank you ...

 Hello everybody, I have another grand marquis with 80,000 miles on it and I'm experiencing some weird problems with the tranny. It shifts nice and smooth but when going into the third gear it shifts nice but starts like shaking a little so I have to take the pedal of the gas and press it back again so it can downshift....This usually happens when going up little hills at a constant speed just when it hits third gear starts vibrating and so I take out the my foot off the pedal and press back again so the shaking can go away... why is this happening? It's a grand marquis 1997 with 80,000 miles on it. This usually happens when slightly accelerating, usually happens at 50 miles and hour or so,,, Would it be again that I have to flush the tranny fluid from the tranny and torque converter and put back mercon v tranny oil? any help i would really appriciate it, thanks guys ...

 My '93 chevy van was slipping it's tranny. Got another tranny, pulled the pan and it has a few metal strips on the bottom about 3/8 " long. Other wise the guy said it drove just fine. Would you put this tranny into my van, hoping it would last, or get a rebuilt one for all the extra expense?? ...
