my favourite sport that i like the best ...

 best afl team? ...

Now and days i think things being classified as "sports" are getting a little out of line... i will quote george carlin here for a second "swimming is not a sport swimming is a way to keep from drowning! running isnt a sport i could run to the sport for some milk but its not a f***** sport! fishing isnt a sport fishing is a means of survival" how can you say things like poker fishing and that is a sport along with darts? i think the sports that are really sports are football baseball basketball hockey soccer with a few exceptions such as european type of sports such as maybe rugby cricket and stuff... nascar, cheerleading, pool, bowling, running, fishing, hunting, racing (bike, car, motorcycle, anything for that matter), and a few more are not sports to me... what do you think? tennis is also a sport... golf is borderline but i think its more of a popular game than an acctual athletic type of sport ...

This is basically In my Highschool. I haven't taken Sports in my school, and Im planning to do so this school year. Here's my description of every sport we have in my school Swimming: Im not very good at swimming in deep levels of water so I can't take up this sport. Basketball: Im good at it, but I suck whenever I play it with someone. Tennis: This is the sport that I wold like to take up, but I haven't practiced it yet, I don't even have a racket to start it off with... Im asking if this sport is easy to learn. Football: Lol, Yeah right. Baseball: I haven't practiced this sport at all, so It might take a little bit of learning for me. So, what sport do you think I should take? 5'7 116 pds. Track: I can run fast, but I get tired pretty easily. My summer was 95% staying at home, so taking up track might be pretty risky. ...

There are many sports in my school that I can choose from, but I'm not an athletic person. I'm not familiar with many different sports because I've been moving around all my life so I never completely master and sport that I start learning. I'm in senior school (years 7-12) at the moment. I have tried rowing for one term, and I loved it (people gasped when I told them I was doing rowing because I was so unathletic), but my parents said that the on-water training was too early in the morning (and even on saturdays at dawn). Another sport I loved was skiing - but my mother didn't want me to do skiing because she thought it was too dangerous. So what should I do? By the way, I go to an all girls school so there aren't anything like American Football, Australian Football, Rugby, etc.... But there are things like soccer, netball, diving, swimming, badminton, tennis, basketball, etc. Can anyone help me find a sport? My school is very serious about sport, so it can't be too rigorous. Remember that I can't do football. Right now I'm deciding whether to do netball, soccer, badminton, or tennis... The soccer team in our school is really aggressive so it kind of scares me. Badminton and netball sound interesting, though. I'll take them into consideration. However, I'll always accept more recommendations so if you have anything else you'd like to suggest, please do! Thanks for the help so far, guys. Okay, now I know the ones I'm going to choose from. I'm going to do about 2 sports in school next year (starts in February, now it's too late to start school sports) and I'm definitely going to do cycling (thanks to Daniel H!). I'm deciding between netball, badminton, tennis, or soccer. I'm also going to do fencing ...

My fav sport is basketball! My reasons to love and appreciate this sport is: 1)It has unique and an amazing style 2)The rules and how it has evolved from the begining of its creation to present day 3)the true fans of the sport 4)how people come together as one and become serious of the sport 5)anybody can play it, even the disabled 6)the players & coaches 7)when the people fight and defend for the team although it is just a game 8)it is very unlike any other sport 9) The different leagues(NBA, NCAA,etc.) 10)EVERYTHING!!! It is so much fun! 11) the dedication people have for the sport 12) the integration of different people on one team I love the game because I grew up in a state and region were basketball is king (Kentucky) and I love it and understand the sport, although there are other sports I can learn about I don't care to because I have basketball! those who don't FULLY understand b-ball should learn because it is very interesting once you learn the history and its evolution and the rules. before I learned about and understood b-ball i didn't give a shi* about it, but know I love it! ...

I have been a (competative) cheerleader for 9 years, i have always considered it a sport... A LOT of people dont consider it a sport... do you? please give logical answers none of the " cheerleading is lame" or " it just isnt.." i would really appriciate an explanation as to why you think it is or isnt a sport here is the definiton of the word sport (as defined by wikipedia) Sport is an activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively. Sports commonly refer to activities where the physical capabilities of the competitor are the sole or primary determiner of the outcome (winning or losing), but the term is also used to include activities such as mind sports and motor sports where mental acuity or equipment quality are major factors. also please dont say " cheerleading is just jumping up and down and yelling" it isnt cheerleading requires balance, Learning moves and routienes, and learning how to yell from your stomach and still clearly anunciate your words... it really bothers me when people say its just jumping around and yelling... if you think its that easy why dont you try 2 do it? ...

I grew up a as a very talented all around athlete. I lettered in two sports and could have easily done the same in a third or 4 th sport. In these two sports I even was offered scholarships that I didn't take advantage of. Because I was so diverse and played the most popular sports that everybody played in, the competition was and still is fierce and I probably never could have gone pro, even if I stuck out the scholarships. I often wonder if I could have been a pro with my athletic gift if I would have concentrated on like tennis, golf, or soccer. At my school, mostly the nerdier kids that couldn't excel in the other sports played these sports. Because of my asumptions I have always wondered if this is really true, and that maybe I should have my sons get into these sports that may have an easier road to the pros. So is there a sport that is easiest to become a pro in? ...

these are the 3 sports i want to be in, in high school: ? tennis ? lacrosse ? cheerleading what would your top 2 choices out of these sports be, and why? these sports seasons don't overlap at my high school next year, although cheerleading does have a fall and a winter season. would the training of one sport interfere with that of another? would it make playing or participating in the other sport less enjoyable or dangerous? (i realize i'm being a little confusing....) any answers are apreeciated! Thank You :] ...
