The answer is the feeling of pride the hunter feels and the prizes they win. Joseph Wood Kruth once quoted, ?When a man wantonly destroys one of the works of man, we call him a vandal. When he destroys one of the works of god, we call him a sportsmen.? Aside from the extreme cruelty by making the animals suffer, it obstructs the simplest law of nature. A study was made a while ago that because of tusk and horn hunting, the bighorn sheep?s horn fell 25% in size. In addition, hunting kills animals in other ways, and not only the ones being shot. First of all, hunting kills animals that are stong and healthy, those needed to keep the colony safe and strong. Second of all, the sound and noise creats fear for the animals around, making them always stressful, resulting in not being able to store enough fat and energy needed to survive the winter. Third of all, by killing wolves and other predators, the herbivore population will get out of control. Fourth of all, many animals that mate for ...

In addiction to animals being endangered and/or extinct, it overrides the simplest law of nature. Tusk and horn hunting has caused the size of the bighorn sheep's horn to decrease 25%, according to a study. In addition, hunting does not just harm the animals who are shot. First of all, hunting kills animals that are strong and healthy, those needed to protect the colony. Secondly, the sound and noise creates fear for the animals around, causing them to be continual stressed, so that they don't conserve enough energy or eat enough to store a layer of fat for the winter months. Thirdly, the herbivore population will get out of hand by killing wolves and other predators. Fourthly, many animals that mate for life are left without their mate once one is killed; effectively stopping a breeding pair. Lastly, inexpensive and popular copper bullets with a lead tip can lead to lead poisoning to the animals that feed off the carcass. A study related to the last point found that the California Con ...

Others are die 15 minutes are more after being shot. Why would anyone hunt for fun, making animals suffer and die while they could have helped flourished the whole colony?  I know people have killed off things like the Carolina parakeet, the dodo bird, and lots of smaller creatures. Have they ever killed off a major predator that hunts/kills humans? Microbes, such as bacteria, or viruses do not count. I am looking for one you can actually see with the unaided eye. I am just curious if man has ever killed off an entire species so that he would not have to worry about it killing him. If not, I guess that kind of begs the question - why? We certainly have killed off speicies that annoyed us or gotten in our way or we thought was trying to eat our food. Can we tolerate a threat - but not an obstacle or a competitor? ...
